Shoe update

A while ago I asked for suggestions about dress flats*. Last week i finally bought some. I investigated all your ideas very closely and was particularly drawn to Lucy's suggestion of frankie4 shoes. However, ultimately I decided against ordering shoes from the other side of the country when there are lots of freight delays.

I know lots of you don't like wedges but these were super comfortable and. I thought the sparkling fabric added something.
I also bought a second pair of running shoes as a pair bought earlier in the year isn't working for long runs.

Added to a pair of fashion sneakers I bought at the beginning of the season https://www.target.com.au/p/li.....gJIRfD_BwE. I am now done! 4 pairs of shoes in a year is a lot for me and i am glad to have these big purchases of the year sorted.

Those are really cute May Jane style shoes, Anne. You're absolutely right in noting how the metallic makes the shoes more visually interesting. Black leather would have been too utilitarian and boring. The sneakers are a great buy too. Looks like you made some really nice additions to your shoe collection.

Thanks nuancedream. Yes i am lovingvthe fashion sneakers.theychave a sort of sock fit, I was able to get them in a 5 which is unusual and i get cushioning and height from the soles.

And yes the sparkliness of the black mary janes definitely helped.and i do already have dress heels and boots for days when I feel them warranted but our office dress expectations are getting more relaxed and i think they'll be fine most of the time.

I’m impressed that you found these. I watched the video of them and they looked much cuter and more lively with the texture and sheen than you tend to see with flat black.
I am having to rethink my footwear big time as does not look like my feet will be happy in some of my former styles.

Footwear is expensive isn't it!! But the most important (well being covered is important too but you know what I mean).

There are so many fun sneaker styles out there at the moment it makes choosing hard. I have two pairs and I really want one more but am holding off at the moment!!

These work shoes look great for you and I am a fan of a wedge too.

Angie, yes it's great to feel sorted. And based on my previous usage, I should get 2 years at least out of each of these pairs (with possible exception of the fashion sneakers) and won't have to shop for that category at all.

Sal - yes it's the one category I do pay out for. Happily in this case I got most of one pair of running shoes with a voucher and both the mary janes and other running shoes were on sale, so though it was a lot, it could have been much more.

Speaking of freight delays, I read the other day that only 1% of usual he transport into Western Australia is happening at the moment. Combined with lower staffing at distribution centres in Victoria, (where there's been a heavy new shutdown owing to a second covid wave) and testing truck drivers, things could take a while!

I think Anne we have to put down mary janes as essential for you. They’re your puffy. I saw them and my first thought was: Mary Janes are just Anne’s shoe.

now so worn I slipped and fell in them.
