Shoe recs needed - summer in the city

Hi all! I've been MIA and now come back for advice. Mea culpa! I promise to hang around more often.

However, I am currently shopping for a family trip to NYC and Washington DC. We will spend a week split between the two and will be doing a lot of walking.

It will be hot both places ( first week of July), so I will be mostly wearing walking shorts and tees or tanks. My concern is footwear. Comfort is my priority - I don't mind sacrificing a little style for comfort, but style would be nice, too.

I already have a pair or leather Tevas from a few years ago that I know are super comfortable. They are about a 5 on the cute scale, though. I know from experience that my feet tend to get super hot in sneakers, but I want to take some anyway. So if anyone has recs for really comfy sandals and fashion sneakers that would look good with shorts, let me hear them!

I can't say enough great things about the Orthaheel brand. They are so comfy and have great arch support. I live in a pair of the Porto II sandals, from spring to fall. I have 3 pairs - 1 that I trashed last summer, which I use for home, 1 for this summer, and 1 waiting in the wings.

There is another shoe that is my go-to for work from a brand called The Flexx - literally like walking on cushions. I have a pair of these in red and I just bought the same version in black, I love them that much. There is a peep toe and my feet don't sweat in them. This is another "comfort" brand that doesn't look too frumpy, IMHO. I had to break in the heel a bit, but now they are like butter. I feel these are the perfect vacation walking shoes - good for day and evening.

Thanks, bj! I do have a pair of Cons already that I wear a lot, but I don't find them supportive enough to wear all day walking on concrete.

By heel inserts do you mean the type that keep the shoe from rubbing the back of the heel? I have those in most of my shoes, but to be honest I have had trouble finding other inserts (the kind that go on the bottom of the shoe) that I find comfortable.
