Yeah, I didn't think the shoe was designed for the toe to peep, either. Like Jonesy, from what I remembered of the Endless pic, I thought of it more as ventilation than a peep toe. Personally, I find toes hanging out *over* the edge of shoes rather horrifying, but I couldn't care less about not enough toe showing.

("Toe Pas" HAHAHAHAHAHA!)

Perhaps this peep is poorly designed (although this is a common challenge with wider feet) - but the toe-less visual on a peep-toe this size does not work to my eye. The same way that toes "hanging over the front of a sandal" - and sometimes scraping the ground - is a bad fit too.

If they are designed that way, it is sort of odd - like they put a hole in front of shoe for ventilation but never intended toes to show? I think they are cool but seem to have a fit issue.
Sorry the orange Fryes didn't work out but now you can move on at least.

Just wanted to say that I've learned something new here - that there is such a thing as a Toe-Pas. I had no idea!

In the meantime Una - I was all set to vote for the Eject sandals over the orange boots, but the thing is - I think Angie has some good points. First is the region/lifestyle/climate factor - as in, how often will you really get to wear these? And then there's the peep toe that doesn't quite peep. I do like these shoes, and I think they are very UWP and perfect for you, but when you combine the fact that you probably won't get a whole lot of wear out of them given your lifestyle and climate PLUS the "non peeping peep toe" problem...Angie's smart to suggest passing on these. It's not that they aren't fab shoes, and very UWP etc. - just that they aren't a '10' for you for environmental reasons and fit reasons.

Toe pas.... OMG I'm dying here.
I know the shoe gods will favor you in finding a good looking pair of shoes, if you decide to return either one or both!

Una, I'm so sorry! Fellow wide-footed shoe hunter sends hugs!

Those Fryes need the boot, and I see they got it.The Ejects, unfortunately, do look like a reject too --- sorry Sona for stealing your line!

I know exactly what is so silly about the design of those. I JUST chucked out the sandals a family-member-who-shall-not-be-named bought me for my wedding --- just slides with a wide strap across the forefoot, which I could never get my toes half-way into (ie, they didn't even make it all the way under that wide strap!). Nope, shoe designer being silly here and there too. Pass and try another, pretty as these were and the perfect vibe, colour and ankle strap detail.

Una, I wonder if you can stretch the front strap of the shoe to allow more toe through?

I like the Ejects, and understand your need to replace your Dansko Ryders. I have them in both black and brown and I probably bought them after seeing a post of yours. Anyway, if you decide against the Ejects, how 'bout just replacing the Ryders? I still see them in stores.

LYNNE! It's so good to see you! My Ryders are worn out, but I've also noticed that recently they are bothering the top of my foot. It's okay if I wear them with a sock, but otherwise they start to hurt me. Not sure why?

I guess the verdict is for these both to go back and to keep looking. Thanks for the new information on peep-toes and for all the input!
