Thanks all.
I am benched as well. Last night I was thinking burgundy for sure. This morning I am back to thinking the tan. The burgundy I find pretty and more exciting. But the tan would be more versatile. There's not a lot of purple or warmer burgundy in my wardrobe, so I would mostly be wearing with black, navy and blues. Darker colors comprise a lot of my wardrobe. All of that could go with either, but I do have other things that definitely would be enhanced with having something very neutral and almost invisible to the outfit.
I used to have the Sam Edelman petty bootie in putty, if anyone remembers that. And I had a pair of Merrell booties. Both tan, and both workhorses. I wore them all the time. They were so neutral. I don't have anything currently that fills that hole, which is why I am back to leaning tan. I am not sure how comfortable they will be yet for real wear. I know they are comfortable for walking slightly through the house and standing to take the pictures. But it takes a little time for me to determine if they're really going to work for longer amounts of walking. If they are great it makes sense to duplicate, but until then, it makes sense to try out one of them.
Also, I think the main reason that I'm reconsidering the tan so hard is because my weather is warm most of the year. The lighter color of the boots allows me to wear them throughout more of the year without looking as seasonally confused. I don't mind wearing booties in the summer if they make sense, and the tan ones tend to work better for that, where I save the darker ones for fall/winter (maybe stretching it to say Nov. - Mar).
