The thing is, I'm off to France in a week and could have this sent to my hotel. That would save me some on customs, too! Oh, Eric Bompard, why do you tempt me so?

I have several things in black silk that I've had for a couple of years at least. Nothing has faded. I don't think silk fades like cotton does. A silk shirtwaist dress sounds like a classic piece. This one is gorgeous.

Not sure about fading but it sure is beautiful. I love the cognac layered belt with it....

Silk fades the most in harsh sunlight like we have here in Phoenix or under hot television lights. You should be okay. I would think the blue or camel would fade less than the black, as well.
What an incredible dress! It looks like it was made for you, right down to the gathered waist and full skirt. You should definitely order it; it seems the stars are aligned in your favor!

I have been looking for a simple shirt dress, and this one seems to be a very lovely one. Should I jump? What color - black or blue?
