I can't stand UPS for that very reason! I run a part-time business out of my home and had supplies delivered there a lot, and they usually came while I was at my day job and my husband was home to receive them. I was expecting a package that I desperately needed and had been tracking it all day, and when the website finally said it had been delivered, I sent my husband a text message to ask him to make sure he put it somewhere safe. He said UPS hadn't been there. We gave it an hour and when still no one showed up I called customer service. They told me the driver had left it by our garage. Well, we live on the ground floor of a 2-story apartment building (which is why a signature is required on delivery, per UPS policy) - and there is no garage anywhere in sight. I still have no idea where the driver left it, and who (if anyone) signed for it, but when I got home my husband had already left for his job and I found the package in the grass by my front steps. Now I have my supplies delivered to my day job, where our driver is fabulous and I never, ever have a problem.
