Only three photos to show because this past week I recycled outfits you've already seen, or did not get out of gear (yesterday - spent it in the hammock reading a book and soaking up the lovely 80 degree weather!)

Weather was quite cold, hence the boots. Top is H&M from last season; this is about as Boho as I get!! I don't know if it even counts as Boho because the colors aren't earthy, but it's a fun shirt. But, it's got way too much volume to wear without a cardigan to create a waist. I wore a cami under for warmth, and my cobalt Jcrew coat over, which color coordinated. I felt quite dressy compared to all the other marathon watchers, who were in gear (lots of fleece). These boots have a significant wedge, and yet I managed to stand in them and walk miles and miles with no problem.

This pose makes my inner thighs look awful. I don't normally stand like this, even when not posing for a photo, but I did so you could get an idea of the skinnies and how they might work if I chopped them into clams.

Also this pose demonstrates another dressing trick of mine: I often deliberately wear shirts that end right at the widest part of my hips/thighs. I do this on purpose, because I think it balances me out and makes me look more hourglassy.

Friday - new AT Outlet tweed jacket:

It does button - just barely - over my chest. As usual, I went back and forth between two sizes trying to decide which one to get. I went with the smaller size because it worked much better lengthwise, and when I wear it unbuttoned, it still accentuates a waist. I should've taken a close-up so you could see the necklace I wore with this; it looked really nice but you can't really make it out in this pic. I like this new jacket with a white top and pearls too.

I think I'll have a lot of fun with this jacket - in the fall too, not just spring. I have wanted something like this for awhile - something ladylike, tweed, in a pastel color, but most of the jackets I've tried were too sickly-sweet pastel (sherbert) on me.

My favorite of the week! First, because it hit 85 degrees - woo-hoo!!! - so I got to break out the clams. Second, because I felt really fun in this outfit. I was channeling a bit of Antje, Angie, and Hannah too!

The top is ATL, and yes there is citron in the pattern so the cardigan choice isn't all that random. The purple flower looks like it came already sewn on the cardigan, doesn't it? Do you think the pin is too oversized for my frame? I did get a lot of looks (or just imagined I did). I don't think any of them were looking at me funny though.

The shoes are Cole Haan and I love them because the color (a pinkish pearly gold metallic) is so close to my skin tone, they practically disappear.

Oh! And this is taken on our back deck. That magnolia tree only blooms one week out of the year, on my DH's birthday. It's blooming also marks the anniversary of when we first moved into this house. All those flower pots behind me are DH's labor of love.... he will eventually move those all around the deck and the yard to grow container tomatoes and herbs this summer. We have a small yard but it's amazing what DH has done with it since we moved here 6 years ago.

Saturday is my fave. The pin is a little big, but I think you pull it off. I love Magnolia trees- the kind that grow out here have completely different flowers.

Great week Shiny. It looks refreshing to see you standing outside in front of a flowering Magnolia tree, in your clam diggers and a citron cardi, with that beautiful purple flower pin. Perfect. I think people were looking at you because you are a pleasure to look at, and you look like the arrival of spring. Yay!

I love your magnolia tree! Seriously, it was the first thing that caught my eye in the picture. You match the beautiful spring weather in your floral blouse and flower pin. Love it!

Shiny, I don't think the pin is too big. I think it looks terrific. Not everybody can pull it off, and YOU certainly can.

Purple and yellow is one of my favorite color combos. Your last outfit makes me smile and look forwards to warmer weather (and trying clams).

2. Oh, the pink tweed is very pretty! ATF had a similar jacket in a green tweed last year that I bought (it's been packed up and donated now), but I like the cut of yours better, and the color will prove to be more versatile for you, methinks.

Great outfits, Shiny! The boots/skinnes combo with the cropped cardi over the boho top makes your legs look *miles* long. I love the AT jacket and I think you made the right choice size-wise. Do you have plenty of room in the shoulders? That's always my pet peeve, if I feel my movement is restricted. I, too, am amazed at the variety of colors you make work for you, as in the citron/purple combo! A very spring-y outfit.

Shiny, great week. The boho look is unexpected but I love it. It's the perfect mix of boho and shiny. And I absolutely adore the last outfit. The colors are so springy and vibrant.

I like the AT jacket. I was a bit thrown by the yellow bag with it, though. But I'm a total newbie to color so take that for what it's worth.

Becky, yes, I have plenty of room in the shoulders.

Alecia, I was dubious about the bag with the jacket too, but felt that the necklace (which you can't really see in the photo) helped pull it together. The necklace is two-tone gold and silver. I was figuring the gold coordinated with the yellow bag and the silver coordinated with the flats?

Tarzy, that's so funny, because lately I've been thinking I have too much of the same colors in my closet - and crave different ones!

But, I do think the colors I choose are right for me. It's just that everyone looks so lovely in other colors, they tempt me - but in my heart I know they wouldn't work for me at all.

For example I love the colors Angie wears but I think - unless I dyed my hair platinum - they would be too high-contrast for me. Likewise I love the high-contrast colors that all you brunettes pull off so wonderfully with black. I now realize why that strategy doesn't work for me - I need a medium contrast. And I love the colors at Jcrew but those are Spring with yellow undertones and really look horrible on me. I get the impression KristenP and a few others here wear medium-contrast Spring shades, which I am adoring lately, but once again, I can't do the yellow undertone thing at all. I also love the soft subtle colors that aren't quite pastels (more like sherberts), but while they are blue-based, they aren't quite right on me either - probably because they are too soft.

It's interesting to me that over the years I have somehow figured out which colors work the best for me, without really understanding the "why's" behind it. It's a process of experimentation and trial and error.

Love the new silver flats – are they working out? Adore the floral pin outfit. KILLER. You have a big personality and absolutely pull off the size of that pin with style. I also really like the pink tweed jacket. Would look great with pearls (of course).

Yes, Angie, the silver flats are working out great. I love them! They are quite comfy and I've already worn them for a few very long city walks with my DH. I am contemplating duplicating them. The only question is, should I get another pair of silver to set aside for later, or get the gold instead to mix it up?

Hmmm. I would duplicate the silver, but I know how your style mood changes, so my suggestion is to go for the gold.
