So, yeah, totally off-topic, but I just noticed Angie had asked about them on another thread, and I didn't want to hijack that one!

So, here's the lowdown - we have a little under 7 months to go (207 days, 1 hour, 50 minutes, and 40, 39, 38, 37...seconds til the big "i do"). We have booked our church, reception hall, florist, baker, and photographer. all big reliefs!

i actually have a blog devoted to my wedding - it started as a way for me to just organize my bookmark toolbar, since it was overflowing with wedding links. here are some of the highlights...

Colors
we are doing pink and orange. my favorite color is pink and steve's is orange, so we thought it would be just perfect!

Flowers

We are doing tulips for most of the bouquets. 1/2 of the centerpieces at the reception will have orchids submerged in water in tall cylinder vases and the other half will be tall pillar candles in pink and orange.

Cake

So excited about this one! this is the cake design we've settled on - http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DUZk.....ove+it.jpg - though with our pink and orange color palette.

DIY Stuff
http://everthineweddings.blogs...../label/DIY

I'm trying to do as much stuff myself because i'm cheap and hard to please it's just that i usually have something in mind and often times the only way to get it is to do it myself. plus, i love working on wedding things, so it's win-win.

The Dress
http://everthineweddings.blogs.....abel/dress

I'm just starting on the skirt portion of it. I have a feeling the skirt will not look very much like the inspiration. i only have one layer of tulle done and i'm already sick of sewing it! i'm thinking i'll do less of the layered look of the inspiration photo and go more for a skirt like this - http://dress.1st-found.com/ima.....m13476.jpg

my original idea was to have a skirt that goes around the tulle for the ceremony. it would be made of the same material as the top part of the dress, so it would look like one piece. then, for the reception, id remove the outer skirt and be left with a tulle skirt. i want to go a little 80's for the reception, so i was going to layer a bunch of pearl necklaces.

we'll see how the tulle skirt looks when i'm all done. if it looks silly, i'll just wear the outer skirt the whole day.

ok, sorry for the long post, but i just wanted to give you some insight on the planning process!
