Hurray! Thanks for pointing this out, Angie and Ryce.
Universal Standard launched a few years ago selling modern clothing with a minimalist aesthetic in sizes 10 and up. I'd been eying them for years and recently bought a shirt from them that I liked. I was delighted that they're doing a series of pop up shops around the country and yesterday I had a chance to shop in person in Portland!
The shop basically had one of every style in every size, and if the style came in more than one color all colors were represented, though not in every size. I tried on over a dozen items and selected a few (cough!). Everything will be shipped to me.
It was such a delight to be able to try things on in person. For my preferred fits, I'm not the same size in every style, and I could try on multiple sizes on and see which I preferred. The staff were friendly as were the other customers as we admired each other's try ons.
I heard them say that some Nordstrom stores will start carrying this line in store; right now Nordstrom only have some it online. (You can buy the full line at the company's site.) At least to start, Seattle will carry it, but not Portland.
And if you're in the market for merino, their merino is fabulous - soft and luxurious and not at all itchy. I'm looking forward to my new pretties! The black wrap top was my one online purchase and I wore it to give a talk for work recently. It is a little fussy to get the wrap right, but the drama of the giant wrap was worth it for me.
That long dress is a dark emerald green, not black.
