I very, very seldom rant about things on YLF. But today is my day.

I’m tired of the fashion industry focusing on social media platforms instead of the product. IT’S THE PRODUCT THAT SELLS. Focus on the markets that will gladly spend large amounts of money in stores if you give them the right product. We cannot buy items that are not there.

Lilypup has posted, because let's face it: *I* have no followers. But this is so true. Retailers are seriously missing the ball. It's crazy not to have sizes 12 and 14 and up. It's crazy to have all those short dresses. It's crazy that you can't get some seams and everything is so shapeless. This is not a planet full of jelly children!

I am also really curious about the backstory. I am sure you have lots and lots of examples of disappointing shopping trips with clients. Knowing you, I'm sure you found a work-around in most cases because you are smart, resourceful, and focused. But it must be frustrating to be out there with clients who would eagerly spend on the items you mention and could look SO AMAZING and be such wonderful walking advertisements for the smart company that answered these needs!

I didn't post today's post for my own benefit because it's really only #5 (dress lengths) that affects me. I posted it because YLF is about YOU, not me. It's about my clients, not me. I am sick of the industry not servicing what is NOT a niche market. There is huge opportunity here - to make people happy AND make money. Someone has to grab it.

And what about shoes not being made in one size??? Is it 10.5? (sorry I can't recall, I do apologize) If that happened to be my size I would be ranting all over the place.

I shared your post on Facebook, Angie. It was so well-written, thank you so much as I am actually in that size range and the missing size would be mine. As it stands, my clothes (especially tops) are generally way too big as I need them to hang away from my body, not revealing too much of what's underneath! So I size up all the time but feel very unstylish about it.

This is so true. There is so much focus on niche areas. And when I look at most social media (Instagram fashion blogger's in particular) all I see are the same styles over and over and at least 1/3 to 1/2 of them I could not wear on my body type, or for my work place setting. It's very frustrating.

I don't have issues when shopping, but I can imagine how frustrating it must be when you can't find your size.
