how far above ankle do booties have to be to be in the category of higher shaft? I have a pair of wedge ones that are about 5 inches above my ankle bone. They are very nice boots and are definitely keepers as the wedge heel is 2 1/2 inches. This heel height is great for me and not easy to find. Also I have a more difficult time buying boots that do not slip on my heels. However I have found this shaft height a little awkward in the past. Angie's blog this morning is great as this showed me how great this shaft height can be with the new lengths of jeans.

They are opening a new DSW shoe store near me tomorrow. Got a $15.00 discount coupon in the mail good for Thursday and Friday only--so will be looking for higher shaft flat heel ones tomorrow.
