SOLVED: Shade of brown, starts with letter "v", popular in mens dress shoes?

I'm sorry for this post but I am racking my brain trying to remember the name of a particular shade of brown. Again, starts with "v" and looks close to cognac. Medium in tone. Any ideas. I hadn't heard of this color and I wanted to learn more - but now I can't even remember the word. Thanks for your help. I've tried to identify it on google with no luck.

Possibly the company used a name of something else to describe the colour like, 'vicuna'?

All I could think of was "varnish," and I knew that wasn't it. Lol!

Weird. I've only seen the term used for the wool of the actual animal. However, lots of times designers (or marketers) will use terms out of context in the name game.

I think they use the name because they want to make profit out of the associations - luxe, expensive... When we toured the production at Johnstons of Elgin last year they had us feel some Vicuna. The fibres are so fine they can't be dyed, so a Vicuna garment always has the brown color of the animal. It's more luxe than cashmere, comparable pullovers they sold cost 300£ (cashmere) and 1000£ (Vicuna).
