Sevilla Smith Shoes -- has anyone tried?

I know there are some handcrafted footwear connoisseurs here, so, has anyone given these a try? https://sevillasmith.com/

It sounds like they're designed to be extremely flexible shoes with lots of give -- perfect for me, but not for those who desire a lot of support from their shoes. And they're gorgeous -- I love the "Sandy" design (below), but I always feel like those half-d'orsay styles are going to fall right off my feet.

I've no experience with the brand, La Pedestrienne, but the Sandy looks right up your alley. (I hear you on d'Orsay styles though).

I haven't, but I've heard good things. I had wondered if the higher vamp on this style would make them less prone to fall off? I believe I read they're designed to start off a bit snug, because the leather is very soft and not reinforced, they mold to your foot after a few wears. There seems to be a niche market for this brand, so resale is an option if they didn't work out.

I think I'd have to be able to try them in person to commit. Their return policy says only unworn shoes can be returned. Since they need to be broken in to know how they'll truly work out on your feet, that's a gamble.

I have noticed that style of higher vamped d'orsey flat is trending right now. You can find less expensive, easier to acquire version if the look is what you're going for, although I suspect you are also intrigued by the craftsmanship.

Wow, I love these. I looked at her site and they are all beautiful (the cheetah booties!). For me, if the sole is fairly flexible they stay on better.

Funny you should bring this up, because I was looking at those shoes too! The FreePeople shoes I've been looking at (see photo) are sold out in my color/size combination, and these are very similar. They're pricier, but I like the idea of purchasing from an independent maker.

The return policy does make me nervous, but in all honesty, I'm not sure why. It's not like I've ever returned a worn pair of shoes, and the "test on carpet" thing is pretty standard.

I can't speak for wearing these shoes long-term, but they seem well made and really are beautiful. Just avoid the hand painted limited editions! I just received my pair today but sadly am returning them. I don't have issues with the shoe itself, but the paint job looks amateur and nothing like what was pictured. For the price it's not worth it. Most likely done by less experienced staff as the owner is in Barcelona for the summer according to her Instagram, so I suspect lack of quality control.

Also size down - they are supposed to be snug at first so the leather can stretch.

devanell16, thank you for posting! I've (still) been trying to choose between color options, and the hand painted ones looked so beautiful and were such a temptation, but now I think I'll stick to a solid color.

Thanks for the review, devanell16. That's really good to know. I've decided to hold off and order a pair of the boots (probably the Terilyn) later this summer, to wear in the fall, since boot-weather is my dominant season and I have more than enough warm-weather shoes now.
