Seriously!?! More Dress Ranting

I finally bit the bullet and spent more than I wanted to on a couple of dresses that Angie recommended. They came today, and neither of them work.
This one (which Angie recommended in denim)

is too small and too short. I'd size up, but I got the largest size available.
This one

is also too short. Without a belt it looks too boxy, but belted it hits me mid thigh and exposes the cellulite on the back of my thighs. It's also too hot for the summer here. I love it, though and am considering keeping it to wear with jeans in the fall, but can't decide if I can spare the money.
Now I have to figure out if it's worth driving to a Macy's to see if I can find something else, or paying the return shipping.

That's so sad - I love both dresses, too. It's so frustrating when things don't fit!! I'm sorry. We'll all send you good dress vibes and hope that the perfect dresses show up soon.

Khris, this is the first summer I have gotten serious about finding dresses and I can't believe how frustrating it's been. I know how you feel. Retailers really missed a big opportunity here.

The Mk safari dress is really cute- is it long enough at 31"?

The white dress is KILLER with jeans. Too bad it's too short to wear on it's own.

I think the Michael Kors one may be too short on you...what do you think? The white one is fabulous in the jeans, especially the second picture. I would def. keep it!

I would also suggest going to a Macys and checking out what they have. My Macys has tons of dresses in store that are not available online. I found two perfect ones last weekend and only one of them is available online.

I like the white dress with jeans. HOWEVER. The cost seems steep for what now amounts to a tunic top that you could probably find less expensively at places like Old Navy. If this were me, I'd return both and try the Michael Kors dress.

Khris, I just bought some dresses from eshakti, and they came out pretty well (though one is a little too long)--they're very customizable in terms of asking for your bra size and height when they make the dress for you, and they're mostly in light cottons:

The denim dress that I just got and love is Kenneth Cole and a similar style. I don't know how practical a silk dress is for me, but for 60% off I decided to give it a try.

I think that I am going to go this weekend to Macy's and see if I can find any dresses. I will bring both dresses with me and decide what to do with the white one while there.

Khris, I can sympathize with you. I've had zero luck this summer finding a cool, light weight dress that is long enough. I did find a few that were great in the length, but they were lined which just isn't practical in my hot summer climate. So frustrating!!! I like the look of the silk dress. It looks cool and breezy.

It's 38 inches long and the lining is mesh (double layer like the Sweet Pea tops. It's breezy but gives one a nice shape without being binding. It's machine washable. It would be worth 2 dresses if it works for you.
