Serious trench envy meltdown AVERTED by Fabbers!

I am rarely envious but all the fab trench finds here have me in a tizzy - I have been looking to replace my lost trench for 2 years now and don't think I can take it any more. I am seriously considering spending my first paycheck on a Burberry trench, since it's nearly impossible to find anything else I like that will work for me.

I am of course thrilled for those of you who have found your perfect trench(es - Rae!) - just wish I could join the group!

There, there dear. Why didn't you want to try the BB? They have it available in some stores still and it's on sale till the 2nd.

Aww, Una - if you think you'd want a Brooks Bros trench, I can check my two local stores. I believe they had a few sizes in khaki Regular and Petite. I know you're pressed for time, but I can make calls, put on hold, etc. Just let me know!

I know your concerned about the shoulders. My shoulders measure 40" around, and my coat is a size 4reg; it is plenty big in the shoulders and back even with a blazer on. The back shoulder measurement on it is 16 inches, if that helps at all.

OMG, MNsara, I didn't even check petites. The 6 shows on regular until you click that size, then it disappears. I am so quadruplicating with you all, assuming I can wear this color and that I can fit a 6P.

Claire, that is reassuring about the shoulders as I'll be layering suits and sweaters under mine!

My shoulders measure 42" and my upper arms (thanks, yoga!) are even larger :-\ I got size 10 so I don't feel like I'm wearing a straightjacket. The coat back shoulder measurement is just over 16". I think I could have gotten away with 8, but I want to feel okay over sweaters, blazers. etc.

To add: it's dark for a beige, but light for a brown, and it's not an earthy, rust brown. It lacks the green or yellow undertones of the SSBs that have been in circulation for a while. It's also not that very light grey-khaki they call "stone". Here it is with a few common household items.

ETA: See how the paper bag and the potato are more golden and the trench is a little pinker, like cocoa?

It's almost the exactly the same color as this blazer. Definitely not beige, and not what I'd call a typical khaki, either. Approaching taupe, although the definition of taupe seems to be somewhat ephemeral. "Beige-gray"? "Saint Martin Sand"? o_0

I can't wait to see it! I hope it works. Did Rae get hers yet? I didn't jump when I saw it on sale & then when Rae posted hers I went back to look & it was sold out in my size so I too am having trench envy. Sure I finally found the perfect Burberry fit for me but I would prefer BB prices in a light colour. I'm a bit scared of not having black & staining my Burberry with blue jeans or something.
