I love this as a fun, happy way to clap back at the catsuit ban.
She wore a black tutu earlier in the week, I think with compression fishnet tights, but I can’t really make them out in this picture.
The catsuit, besides looking amazing on her, was a compression garment to prevent blood clots. She has a history of pulmonary embolisms and had them again after her daughter was born. Three major surgeries her first week of being a mother. Couldn’t walk to the end of the driveway to get the mail. And now this!
She was very open on her Instagram and in interviews about the fact that black people have a hard time getting medical personnel (in the US, though the Guardian ran a piece about the UK following this story) to treat them for medical conditions, and black women are 3x as likely to die in childbirth as white women. This opinion piece has links to several solid articles on those issues.
