Hm, I didn’t know peacocks swam either!

Momentary return to hijack — StyleFan, did you love your Airstream? We are looking at the new 30’ (!) Globetrotter, but it would be probably 2-5 years down the road. Needs to have some good spread out space for super tall husband and me and two big dogs (sad to say, little Tippi is unlikely to be around by the time we have those adventures, but you never know! Fortunately she can fit anywhere).

But as we explored, we came across those small Tab and Nucamp trailers in my photos above. They are made by the same company, under a different name, that made my tiny teardrop trailer that I pulled all over the country for 10 weeks, exactly nine years ago. This could be an interim thing that would allow for quick getaways and for me to take solo photo trips and camp rather than do hotel rooms.

Then we can chase the good weather wherever it is!

DH thinks he should make me a cat box next to the fireplace. Maybe he can make one for you too, suntiger?

Haha Runcarla! The result...so far...
Tried on like 25 things, all awful. Spent 2 days pay at bike shop instead

I am also a summer lover! We do get four seasons but none are that extreme - except sometimes rain!!

I love the ease of summer clothes - lack of layering - dresses - sandals - even bikinis.

I have a lot less winter clothes so by late winter there is so much wardrobe boredom.

Here, take my weather. It was 99° today, and our second official heat advisory day since I got here. There really have only been a couple of days below 90° since I arrived on August 20.

If you happen to find the fairy can you please send her my way? My fall winter wardrobe is non existing at the moment and I had absolutely no luck with online or store shopping.

Ooh, I want to hear about the bike! While new ride, or “just” improvements?

Suntiger, I'll come to Northern Cali with you ... we are enjoying moderate temps right now and they are tinged with the sadness of knowing they won't last long!!

I'd avoid Australia personally; too many snakes and spiders for me

70? In winter? Where I live, 70 is summer. I wonder what your winter clothes look like.

Cat, you’ve been on YLF long enough to have seen WIWs. What do you mean, you “wonder” what her winter clothes are like? Recall that there are quite a few here who deal with temps that warm every winter!

Clarifying: Suntiger was joking, *wishing* for winters of 70 degrees — it doesn’t actually stay that warm here in winter. Although it’s not that unusual to get a warm spell of a few days involving shirt sleeves in winter here.

Yep- our winters are definitely not 70, usually 30ish. I just wish they were! We get 90s in summer, 30s in winter, and not much in between. Right now it's low 80s- just perfect
The bike was just maintenance, tune up, tires, rewrapping, me learning to fix it, and accessories. Feels like a new bike though!

I think we are all joking around here.... (which I like)

I have been wasting a bit of time following a couple of English youtubers and they are all waiting for autumn and can't wait for summer to be over.

I always feel a bit sad at the end of summer, but we are clearly all wired differently (and summer/winter etc are so very different from location to location).

This time of year I just want to slow down time, just drink in the warmth and the waning light. I want to do all the outside things while I still can. Once it gets colder, its a quick slide to winter

That is me too Suntiger....

There is no such thing as a Sunkiwi though (they are nocturnal)...

Sunkiwi and the swimming peacocks

Suntiger, sounds like the kind of bike shop I need to find here. I've taken mine in a couple places for little things, haven't been impressed yet.
I'm still saying 70 in winter is not as fun as you think. But I hear you on the waning light--the pool was closing at 8 every night, but now that it's dark before 7:30, it's only open til 6. Even that is just for the next couple weeks, and then it's indoor pools for the winter. Sunday I swam 1200 and then lay on the pool deck for a while, enjoying the 74 degree "heat". Today and tomorrow highs are around 60. This all seems to be happening so much faster than last year, but I have no idea if that's accurate.

To make winter dressing easier, try sweater dresses. They can be casual and worn with sneakers or boots. Jeans and a pull-over sweater is about like jeans and a tee.

Ohhh, sweater dresses* are an excellent idea for you, ST! With a whole cozy base layer (fleece-lined tights & you've gotta have a ls bodysuit!) underneath and that PC coat or a long blazer or cardi on top, wearing tall boots with warm socks, there is no way you'd feel cold. But winter dressing is never fast, alas--that outfit's probably a week's worth of summertime clothing!

"Sunkiwi and the swimming peacocks"--you're changing your moniker & starting a band?

No find for T Turk, but you'd light this dress up https://www.trinaturk.com/coll.....cork-dress This one would be good for you too, but you don't e wool https://www.trinaturk.com/prod.....ater-dress

*possible substitute--that fuchsia Boden sweater & matching skirt from yesterday's round-up.

I love the dress selection you found, Fashintern. I don't wear dresses, but love looking at them.

How sweet of you to say that, Sterling--thanks! I hope ST likes them too. It's pretty easy to guess that I want to see her in that teal dress with her new sweater-coat. Her colors and mine overlap but also diverge strongly--I think the teal, tweed, and navy would work for us both, but those broad stripes would be death on me. I'm curious if she thinks I got that right.

Yes to sweater dresses with the PC coat! I like the burgundy Lewit (maybe will go on sale?), the teal, and the navy.
The others work color wise, but stripes, short sleeves and short a-lines aren't me.
I tried on a black Ann Taylor sweater dress at a consignment shop I liked, except it bulged a bit on my back- and I recently passed another dress on for the same reason.
I'm looking at ponte, knee length shift, and wrap dresses too for it.

Lol, Suntiger! We are the opposite. Today, we have had 14 degrees Celsius, I am so glad! Fall fashion, finally! I am putting away summer dresses, tunics, sandals (the one pair I have and smiling.....

One pair of sandals only?! I have like 10, and keep at least a few out through December for one off comfy days

It's 14C here today too. Rainy and grey. Going to go up to a whopping 17C. Fall is fast to break through in Seattle. Boots, light knitwear, and warmer jackets/blazers are in full swing.

I only have one pair of sandals too.....maybe two....

Brr that's like November to us!

My two days in LA... yeah, I loved it. Midnight dog walk and no jacket!

ST, are you on Chesapeake Bay? My son was born near there, in Fairfax VA.

High temp today was around 15. Tomorrow it's going up to 60 (Fahrenheit)--only a degree (Celsius) warmer, but it sounds so much better than temps in the 50s, lol. Nighttime temps are starting to hit single digits (Celsius). Neither of us can decide on a temperature scale we like. Languages are sometimes the same, lol.

BTW, you realize that the Eliza J navy dress is (the only one here that's) not a sweater dress, right? It just seemed to have the right vibe, and reviews said it's kinda long, so your knees wouldn't freeze between hem and boot top.

Yep- I always have to look up to see what the celsius translates too! I've never been good at translating any measurements.

Have you looked at Ivko? They are evil poison for my bank account. I actually got my hands on a skirt the other day and liked it far too much. But I bet your wardrobe fairies know this brand. https://www.ivko.com/collection/
