Selections from NAS - YouLookFab Forum

Ana and I preselected for NAS yesterday for the 3rd year in a row (4th NAS but we didn't preselect the first year). Our tradition is really fun. I'm finding that I have a tendency to indulge my inner rock star every year.

I didn't buy everything in the pictures below, but I'd love your help in deciding which ones to keep/go back and get. I'm planning on keeping the leather pants and the Born booties and the pants are supposed to be "hemmed" at the seam since they are a little long.

I apologize the pics aren't in a convenient order and I can't remember all of the designers

1. Trina Turk blouse and suede backed sweater vest. (Can't remember who makes it)
2. Sheer sleeveless asymmetrical blouse
3. Cashmere sweater
4. Theory charmeuse blouse and June leather skirt
5. Split neck top
6,7 Leith leather pants
8 Kensie sweater
9 Trina Turk blouse

Wow, I don't even know where to start. The leather pants were made for you. And really I love everything else...especially 1,4, and 9, but it's almost impossible to pick favorites since they're all so great.

My favorites are 1, 5, 6, and 8. The first gray cowled vest is really pretty, and I love the pattern of the b/w top. The textures of the sweater in 8 look so luxe and cozy!

Not sure of the color of 3. The drape of 4 seems off around the waist to me, and I can't see the details of the skirt on my monitor... though I have a June leather vest and have to admit I love it. I don't love the length or colors of 9 on you, unfortunately -- maybe it's the lighting?

Rae, you have a good eye. The leather skirt does not lie right around the waist so I passed on that one.

Angie, they are the Born booties. A little higher, but doable for me.

I didn't actually purchase any sweaters-- it's hard to at this time of year. So how do I narrow it down?

What a great selection!! I haven't seen a lot of these NAS items yet. Well, I was going to try to sift through what works and what doesn't, but honestly, everything works! The leather pants and booties seem like a no-brainer. I love the layering effect in #1. Very cool. With your climate, you would wear #2 to death. #3 is killer if you think you can wear it enough. The Theory blouse is so, so pretty! And the split-neck top, too. The Kensie vest was not good on me, but it looks great on you. Darn it! I guess, of all the items, the Kensie vest is my least favorite, but as MOTG, you might wear it a lot. You have some tough decisions!

I love the leather pants, so I'm SO glad you're keeping those.
As for the rest of the items, I think I like the "mixed media" sweater vest in photo 1, the teal top in photo 2, the sweater in photo 3, and the sweater in photo 8 the best.
I actually got the teal blouse in photo 2 also.
As far as the long sleeve blouses, I prefer the floral one on you to the Trina Turk plaid. Perhaps it's the structure? or the colors? Not sure.
And I'm not super excited about photo 4. I don't think either the blouse or skirt do you justice.
Did you try on any dresses? There's a print one I thought would look fab on you.

I love everything except the blouses in 4 and 9. Everything else deserves a place in your closet IMO.

Wow Patience, you have such a great figure and look good in everything. Really you make everything look good. Not everyone can pull off wearing leather pants, except rock stars on stage, but you look like a perfectly polished MOTG in yours.

Do we really need to narrow it down, Patience?-) You make it incredibly hard for us, because everything looks fantastic!!

(and as San mentioned: you are one of those exceptional women who can do a very polished rocker look, I LOVE that).

I agree that you definitely need to keep the leather pants and the booties. I also absolutely love all the blouses on you (the plaid and the floral print are very different, but I personally think they both look amazing on you), the sweater vest and the sweaters.

Nothing looks bad on you. I particularly love 1, 3, 4 and 5, but with this selection and your body you can't go wrong.

Love the drapey vest in 1, the patterned blue split-neck blouse, and the leather pants, of course! The booties look great, from what I can see. I think the cashmere sweater with the wide 3/4 sleeves is good-looking, but personally I find that I am super challenged by trying to wear sleeves like that under coats, especially if they are bulky and sweater-y (they bunch up and drive me nuts!). There aren't really any duds here, so you can probably just pick and choose what you love out of the bunch, knowing they all look fab.

And what did the pretty Patience end up buying?

In addition to the leather pants and booties, I purchased 2, 5, and 9 and a blouse I didn't get a pic of-- a long sleeve sheer snakeskin print blouse. I'm leaning toward returning the Trina Turk blouse because I don't love it, it was expensive and I won't be wearing long sleeves for a while. I think the colors are throwing me off in this case-- I'm in summer color mode. I'm pretty sure I'll keep 2 and 5 because of colors and wearability now. The snakeskin shirt I'm on the fence about since it has long sleeves too.

I must also confess that I was not strong enough to resist the Donald Pliner cat print heels. But the reality that I don't really have occasion to wear them much has set in so most likely they will go back.

I didn't get any accessories.

I think my strategy is to let it all sit for a few days, and then check out Angie's picks and visit the sale in case I discover something I can't live without.

I bet I could come up with an occasion for you to wear those heels if you want. O:)

You must go back for that vest in 8, the animal print heels need cozy warm friend.

I like your strategy, Patience. Let it brew for a while and watch out for the top picks list Friday morning.

Excellent plan, Patience! I LOVE the things that came home with you. But I'm with you on a bit of wait to see if the 'thrill' wears off and something else makes more sense -- especially when your cool weather won't be there for many months,

2, 5, and 9 were some great choices. I really like these colors and prints on you. I really like the leather pants in 6 and 7 too.
