Other
I'm a HUGE music fan, and I sing and perform regularly too so always looking for overstated costume jewellery and interesting tops/scarves to wear to jazz up onstage outfits.

Jen, it may be that the person has not added their address to their profile yet. I just realized this morning that I hadn't entered mine. You can always send a private message reminding your person to please enter their address.

Oh I'm excited... very very excited! I can't wait to surprise my giftee with her present!

My favourite colours are blue, purple, red, cream, navy and black.

I adore tights and hose in all its varieties and generally buy a size S.

Accessories- I don't wear earrrings but I am always in need of necklaces, bracelets and cocktail rings. Scarves are another big hit with me, and I like having a wide variety of scarves, berets and gloves to wear with my new blue wool coat.

I'm a silver metals girl!

Can't wait!!

Oh, sorry I didn't see this earlier - busy weekend with Indian new year and single momhood till Monday!

I love just about any color that is not pastel. and don't look good in whites, browns, or spring/autumn colors except olive and mustard. I mostly wear silver. The only styles I don't like are frilly, country and cutesy. Otherwise, I'm not picky!

ETA: Love any kind of fun and funky tights to go with my ever-growing boot collection. Also gloves/mittens/scarves/winter gear always will be used. Ring size 7. Little wrists (6").

Sorry to my Santa!! I just saw this now! And I want to explain a little predicament I'm having right here, in case you think I'm ignoring you. Elfster is an odd site from a blindness perspective in that its only partially accessible. For instance, I tried to answer your questions today, but I was unable to post them because the "submit" or "post" button was just nowhere to be found using my screenreader. I'll try to sort this out, but if I can't make any headway, I'll answer your questions on this thread...hope that's ok with everyone! One thing I did manage to do is update my address, so hopefully you're all set there.

I want to be a low-maintenance Santee for you! Right now accessories are an area of focus for my wardrobe, particularly jewelry or scarves! I'm particularly trying to build my scarf collection -- anything in white or in Michelle colours would be fabulous. Here are my preferences:

Style: I'm very modern classic, not boho in the least. I don't like fringe, ditsy florals etc. Clean lines and interesting textures make me happy.
Colours: Red, purple, blue, turquoise, black, white, jewel-tones in general. I don't really where brown at all, and I understand that muted colours and darker shades of green don't always work on me.
Jewelry: I'm on team silver and team pearl, but I'm really pretty flexible here. Love necklaces and earrings almost equally, but don't wear much in the way of bracelets or other arm candy.
Scarves: silky or soft materials send me into a tizzy of joy. I shy away from very wooly or itchy things, since my skin is sensitive around the neck. I'm more interested in fashion scarves rather than the outerwear sort. Pretty flexible on patterns (abstract florals, polka dots, fun shapes, you name it)! I tend to like the same shapes and lengths as Angie.
I dream of some day having more plus-size microfishnets, ,which are outrageously hard to find, but am not holding my breath.
Have never said no to chocolate in my life and am not about to start now. Have recently fallen in love with tea.
And of course, if I'm proving hard to shop for, a simple something for my Revie-girl would go over just as well!!

Thank you so much in advance! And thanks to Megan for organizing this.

Dear Elf,

Please know that I love presents. Anything you send me will be excitedly received:)

As most here know, I'm tend to be a classic dresser. I love bright colors as well as darker tones and I wear most colors except yellow, orange and taupes. My favorite colors are probably blue and green although I'm wearing more purple these days.

As for jewelry, I tend to wear smaller earrings but rarely bracelets as they're usually too big for my wrists. I love silver-toned necklaces and you can't go wrong with pearl pieces. I could use an interesting long silver pendant necklace. I rarely wear scarves but would like to start trying some!

I'm a tea and cocoa drinker but not coffee. Chocolate is a weakness but then again all things sweet call my name.

Looking forward to hearing from everybody else:)

This has made for a fascinating read. You all crack me up.

(Also high fiving Marianna and Maya because we like almost the exact same colours).

Great reading ladies!!!

I have filled a whole page in my notebook with things to look for when I get a chance to go shopping - I already have a fair idea which stores I'll be heading to!!!

This is SO MUCH FUN!!!!

I'm so excited, just read my email to know who I've been paired with.
Thank you for doing this Megan.
About me:

Love scarves and have been looking for the perfect one in blue and burgundy tones to wear with my burgundy jacket.
Been trying to improve on my earing collection and specially like the longer one's
Can't wear rings
Love books(about style or whatever)

I'm sure my secret santa will find something wonderful that can add something to my style.

I love reading about everyone's style preferences. When are we doing the exchange? I know that the original e-mail probably said this, but I don't remember...

Please make sure that your gift will be received by Friday, December 10- allow 14 days for international postage. How long does postage within the US usually take?

Just FYI, there's no mail delivery on weekends in Australia

Postage in the US varies. If you're sending something within two locations on the same coast, it usually takes about 2-3 days. If you're mailing something cross-country, it can take a few days longer, although typically my stuff reaches the west coast within 4-5 days at the longest. I'm not sure how things work when sent between the US and Canada, but I'm guessing one should add a couple of additional days for customs.

Megan, is the general idea that we should leave off the return address on the package, for fear that it will ruin the surprise? I worry a little about things getting lost in the mail, but I wouldn't want the return address to be a dead giveaway either.

Also, I assume that once everyone has their gifts on December 10, we will guess who our santa is and then reveal ourselves, right?

I'm coming late to this thread -- for some reason I'm shy about posting any "wishes!" Crazy, man!

Anyway, I'm sure I'd love anything my "elf" wanted to send!

I love earth tones and also teal and purple and coral and red. Oh, and animal prints!
Love dangly earrings!
Don't wear rings except my wedding ring.
Love scarves and would love to have a black-and-white (or black-and-ivory) polka dot or plaid to add to my collection
Could really use some fab system for organizing my scarves, come to think of it
Love cozy nighties or nightshirts as long as they're soft and stretchy
I enjoy fun colored socks to wear with my boots
I'm not much on lotions or scents but I love nail polish (especially in modern colors like cement) and eye makeup!
Am ridiculously easy to please!
Stores I like are AT Loft, Nordie's, J. Crew, Talbots.
Body shapewise, I'm an inverted triangle -- v. small (size 4 petite) on the bottom, ginormous (36DD) on top.

Coming back to add: I have a pretty big hole in my wardrobe for lighter-colored belts like tan, ivory, bronze, pewter, etc. My waist measurement is medium-ish, 29 inches or so.

awww it makes me so sad that i didn't see the thread on secret santas before! have to say, though, i loved getting to know all my ylf friends a little better

be sure to share pics of the loot once it comes your way!

Hello Ladies,

I still can't recognize my secret Santa. Hopefully that will get resolved before 12/10.

About me:
I realize this is hard since I don't post WIWs. Hopefully, these hints will help out:
I am in dire need of gloves. I tend to lose them by the time Spring rolls around. I have ZERO pairs at this very moment (Hint).
I love any color that is not pastel, moss green or brown.
I wear a lot of black and grey and I'm very unapologetic about it.
I've been trying to build a collection of brooches with zero luck. They seem to hide when I'm around:) The "collection" is rather scarce at the moment. I have only two!
I would love any accessories: Mixed metals necklaces & bracelets, the bolder the better.
I only wear stud earrings, for the most part. I am a fan of pearls.
I am 5'8, size small on tops (most brands) and 6-8 on bottoms. Brown hair and eyes.

I shop at BR, Gap, H&M, Zara, ATL and Express (on occasion).
I also shop at Nordies and Lord and Taylor.

Oh, I am sorry I did not post this before but it took me two days to think about what I like...
Favorite colors: all purples from deep amethyst to lilac and lavender, warm turquoise or teal - deep color rather than pale; orangy-coral; almost all greens. Mustard yellow and gold yellow are good for me too as well as terracotta orange and olive green. I can wear nothing dirty like beige or pastels - they wash me out. Also I suit warm grey and reddish brown better than cool grey and black.
I am always on the lookout for great accessories: scarves, belts (usually I need Medium size in belts), bold statement jewelery. Earrings can be a problem as I can wear silver or gold only in my ears. Bracelets can be a problem also as my wrist and hand are pretty wide - that`s why I do not own any bracelets but if I ever come upon a great bold piece that fits that would be a cause to celebrate!:-)
Clothing can be hard to fit but lately I am mostly size M or 10 unless it is a long knit top over the hips - then I need L to fit my hips.
I will also try to create a sample wish list on Elfster just to give a better idea what I like!
This is so exciting! Megan, you are our hero for organizing this!

May I make a suggestion?
I suggest we *do* include our return addresses on the packages, just to avoid any postal hassles. The recipients of our gifts will then know who we are, but could maybe sit on that knowledge until Dec. 10, at which point we all do a big reveal complete with pics????

Thanks for the info about postage Steph!

You can always put a return address without a name I do think it will be fun to try and guess who sent your gift before the big reveal.

Zap, I will check out your SS draw and get back to you via PM.

Sorry I'm late!!

Favorite colors: red, mid or cobalt blue, black & white, turquoise, purple.

I don't wear much jewlery but I love my scarfs, belts, and brooches. I am on the lookout for a cocktail ring and also more brooches.

I also love the idea of over the knee socks or patterned hose.

My style is modern classic.

I love surprises!!!

Ooh, gloves is a great idea! or winter accessories in general. If I am cold I will wear ANYTHING and style goes out the window.

let's see...

I wear silver most of the time. but don't really need more jewelry. perhaps a nice silver chain, since I have several silver pendants but no nice chain to put them on. I don't like those chains that are square... not sure how else to describe it. anyway. if you are thinking of that, you can ask me to elaborate in the anonymous question elfster thing.

I like green and blue and black and brown and grey and red/cranberry, and those are the colors I wear too!

but the gift doesn't need to be fashion related.... i also like writing letters the old fashioned way, so maybe stationary

if i could have two fashion wishes they would be that heather grey would disappear never to be seen again because I hate it with the passion of ten thousand suns, and that I could find things with 3/4 sleeve lengths all the time; dresses, shirts, sweaters, jackets... anything and everything.

what else about me? let's see. I lived on a ship for two years traveling around the world, i've been to 31 countries and coincidentally I'm also 31 years old. I just had a baby on the 11th of October, and I'm waiting impatiently for her birth certificate to come so I can apply for her passport. I studied Scandinavian Area Studies at the University of Washington with two years of Swedish... unfortunately scandinavia is part of the world I haven't been to yet. I have traveled within the states as well and have only about 14 more to visit in the lower 48.

I like things (style, architecture, design, music, names, art) from the late 1800s. Also from the 20s, 30s and 40s.

my daughter's name is Clementine.

my husband works in Product Development for a company that manufactures furniture (chairs, couches and benches) for (among other places) Starbucks, Nordstrom, and the GAP/BR/ON conglomerate.

Did I mention I love plaid/tartan? especially the very traditional scottish ones like Royal Stewart and Stewart Black.

I hope this has been enlightening/not too boring!

Dear Elf,
Thank you for drawing my attention to this thread! I'm so excited about this, here are things I like:
Horses
Sparkly stuff: vintage jewelry, hand made long necklaces and bracelets
Peacock colors
Scarves
My style is mainly sporty- equestrian, with a little edge; I tend to dress in military colors (lots of skinny cargos!!! When I wear skirts, they are usually pencil and worn with boots) and add little pops of color- I'm kinda known for accessories
My favorite accessory is a an Ugg (sorry Angie, but I live in my Uggs after I ride) boot charm- it's like an anklet with a big sparkly horseshoe- that I got in Vegas on my birthday last year!
I have a major weakness for purses
I also love soft snuggly things- my favorite socks are Hue and I could probably uses some cute ones to peek out from the tops of my boots.
Phew.
This has been a really great exercise! It will help me in keeping my wardrobe tight!

santa, baby, hurry down the chimney tonight...

style: minimalist, modern, architectural. i like clean designs in neutral colors. the a/w 2010 celine collection is my dream.

accessories are where i go WILD! especially scarves in prints/florals/strong saturated colors! i love chunky and eye-catching but structured/sculpted jewelry. as an example, i've gotten this ring in clear glass and am in love with the cocktail ring shapes similar to the alexis bittar lucite and miss havisham lines.

like scarlet, i like to stay warm in the frigid american north. woolies, gloves, tea, hot cocoa.

and, santa, i'll have the brownies and milk waiting by the fire.

So sorry I'm replying this late. This thread is so much fun!

A little something something about me:

My favourite colors: Think Angie & Marianna. Strong, bright jewel tones - red, black, white, yellow, purple, magenta/fushcia tones, turquoise (blue-based), cobalt blue. Most earth tones like dark brown, forest green etc look flat on me and hot pink tones make me look jaundiced

Style: While I wear funky, hip modern classic I'm game for most styles. Nothing entirely bohemian though. Patterns I love - strong geometric patterns, big polka dots. I don't really like ditsy florals and too much pattern in general.

Accessories: I love chunky, statementy jewelry and funky eye-catching styles. On the other hand, I dig all types of non-delicate pearl jewelry too. All kinds of scarves to

Perfume/beauty: Less corals, more plums, spicy reds and strong browns. I lurve perfume - mostly citrus based or white flower types. My regular summer perfume is DG Light Blue and winter perfume is CK Truth.

Places I shop: Ann Taylor/Loft, Urban Outfitters, Gap, Zara, Express, H&M, Target and BR. I love Mango too but don't get to shop their stuff very often.

I'm a size M in most tops, 8 in skirts and 10 in dresses and pants. I'm petite at 5ft 2 in tall. I'm obsessed with jackets and live in FL so don't really have much need for cold weather accessories. If it matters at all, I'm also a geeky programmer

Hobbies: I'm a bookworm, love tea (earl grey, indian chai, jasmine, rooibos, maatevana in my pantry right now), animals, baking and working with my hands.

Oof, that was a novel! This was a fun exercise but I love gifts and please know I will love and cherish anything from any fab YLFer I'm a bargain hound myself so I do not expect anyone to be burdened by any big expense on my account.

Off to add stuff to elfster. This is so exciting!

Dear Elf,

Thank you for thinking of me. Anytime I find a package at home waiting for me it's a treat. I am fond of cool colors. Especially blues, purples, grays. I like to add pops of color with my accessories. I love butterflies and horses. My style is still in development but I lean towards classic and sporty the most. My favorite stores are: Nordstrom, AT Loft, Lucky Brand, Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole. I'm always on the lookout for a new necklace, scarf, or earrings. I cannot wear acrylic or >10% wool blends. I have a small wrist (6 inches) so the only bracelet that fits are the stretchy one's.

Can't wait to see my gift! So exciting!

Lisa

So how is everyone going with their shopping?

I have bought my gift!!!

It was funny, after reading this thread, I kept seeing things that would suit so many of you!!!
