Secret Santa 2016- opening day AND the big reveal......

My Santa was very organised this year! I safely stored my package away until this morning.

It was festively wrapped and I was delighted to find some hair products from Bumble and Bumble and a beautiful calendar-with pictures of US national parks. I love hair products and have heard of this brand - so will be delighted to try them out.

Thanks Santa- it has been a hard week here and I needed a boost!! I know my Santa but will keep it quiet.

I got TWO lovely packages from YLF Secret Santa. I haven't unwrapped either yet, but here they are in their wrappings.

Someone let me know if I shouldn't open these -- I'm a little concerned that this was an error!

ETA: Never mind -- I opened the card from my Santa (in Australia!) and it said that "the rest of my gift" was coming from another source, so all of these packages are from my one generous Santa. Thank you, YLF Santa!

ETA: And here are my gifts unwrapped! Lovely handmade soap in "Dark Chocolate". A beautiful handmade zippered case from Etsy that could hold makeup brushes or pencils. And a set of 10 notecards from Squidinki.

My packaged arrived in a David's Tea box from here in the United States. I love good tea so thank you Santa, you are the best!!!

I got a lovely blue leather clutch from my Secret Santa. Thank you! It will be put to good use.

I also realized that I made a mistake and thought that my recipient was somebody else...to be explained on name revelation day.

I received a black and white print Madewell scarf with burgundy trim. It will work well with lots of items I own. Madewell is one of my favorite retailers. I also got a mini of my favorite Fresh sugar lip balm. Thanks Santa!

I've received one of the nicest, most thoughtful gifts I've gotten in a long time. Someone remembered that I work with ethnographic and archeological artifacts from the southwest and that I'm an artist. I got a beautiful set of prismacolor pencils (drool), a sharpener, and two southwest themed adult coloring books. A perfect stress reliever.

I got a lovely package all the way from New Zealand! I love to cook, and my fab secret santa sent me a cookbook from her favorite NZ cookbook author, Annabel Langbein. I can't wait to try some of the recipes! I also got some gorgeous towels with NZ's Christmas flower (Pohutakawa) on them. Thank you Secret Santa!

As you can see from the first pic, Cosmo and Callie were interested in helping me open the package!

Its a lovely leoperd print scarf. Totally on trend.

Santa is obviously very busy this year and has not quite made it to me yet. I'll keep listing for the jingle bells and watching for rudolph's nose. It's a good thing he travels by sleigh since there has been so much cold and snow all over the country with 3-6" falling chez moi for the next several hours. At least it warmed up to 19F from yesterday morning's subzero temps.

I was the Secret Santa for Karie....it was fun to think of something that might be useful in a US Winter...I went around in a few circles with earrings to add some sparkle but in the end decided to stick away from fashion and go with the cookbook. I love Annabel Langbein, her recipes suit my love for tasty natural healthy-ish food in a non fussy way.

There are a couple of gifts still in transit but we can keep adding to this thread over the next week...

I was the Secret Santa for... Mauvish! Who may or may not know that it was me, because my real name (the one that would have appeared as the sender on the package) is not actually "April". "April" is just the month that I was born.
