Second Levi's and Links - YouLookFab Forum

I posted the jeans in pics 3/4 yesterday --- I was in desperate need of some tall-boot jeans for snowy weather! They are these:

Because some of you wanted to know which ones I chose, I thought I'd post the second pair I brought home, the Levis 525 Straight jeans. These are longer in the inseam, 32 1/2, versus 31 for the skinnies (I believe both are available from Levi's in tall). I'm not sure if I'll keep because they're too long for flats, and a bit too full, when added to my full calves, to get into boots. Slender calved women would be fine, I think. Also, the pics show me that these grab my buthigh. You know the buthigh, don't you? I think they'd give enough after a couple hours of wear, but the skinnies are really making me happy right out of the box, and are stretching only modestly.

Marianna: Yes, I'd say TTS, with good room in the buthigh (or thutt) and calves. They're true jeans, rather than leggings, which is much more flattering on me. The hit below my belly button, the 525 are about a half-inch lower in the front rise, and an inch and a half longer in the inseam.

Zap: They were Levi 501 -- shrink to fit. I think they may be making them again in a specialty line. I seem to remember Merwoman may have tried a pair in cream last spring and posted a WIW.

Hestonian: "Thutt!" Oh, I love that, too!

Deb: I think I may wear these around the house a bit, to see if they loosen a bit in the "buthigh" or "thutt." If they do, I think I might wear them enough to warrant keeping them.

What the heck is the butthigh? Or thutt? I see only fab-ness in both these jeans! Loved the skinnies in the other thread and love these in 1-2 here as well!

You are a very funny woman I have to admit that I prefer the fit of #3/4.

Ha! Yes, Suz, buthigh is a technical term, but it's not necessarily a pejorative. It's just usually right at the top of the thigh and base of the rear that I have to watch for fit. When my weight changes, the issue remains, just in a smaller size. The booty's OK with me, but it can be a bit high maintenance! I can guarantee you that J. Crew and True Religion need a buthigh education!

I prefer #3 and #4. I hope you keep those too. Both pairs look marvelous.

Angie: I'm actually keeping the mid-rise skinnies in 3/4, and returning the Levi 525 Perfect Straights in 1/2, which are lovely, but just a bit too clingy on the, well, buthigh. I boldly posted the Levi 525's in 1/2 anyway, because they might be preferred by other forum members, particularly since they're longer in the leg and just a tad lower in the front rise. Someone with a bum, but less generous thighs would probably love them.
