Searching for tall boots !! - YouLookFab Forum

I have a post on 'What I wore' about some riding boots I just bought.
I bought them because they are like dressage(riding) boots they have the extra tab of leather on the outer side of the leg that make them appear to be taller.
I have a problem finding tall boots. Does anyone have this problem or have any sources for tall dress boots? No pirate boots though, not a look for me.

I am looking for a pair that I would wear with skirts(work/street casual). I have a black pair of flat boots(Franco sarto) that I just lucked out on a few yrs back that are high and fit my calf like a glove.
I may be buried in those boots.
But I am looking for another boot and would not mind a heel , I prefer a kitten heel if a all possible or a heel no higher than 2” max".
If you see my other post ,you can see I have a classic look and I really like simple lines, not a lot of hardware. Other than that I am not too picky, am I?!!!
I know we are going out of the season for boots. Maybe I might find a deal or I can start saving for next year. Maybe you just have some names of vendors/designers to look into?
Since I wear fairly classic clothing I keep things for a long time so I am willing to pay more if the boot is "Killer" as Angie would say.

I share your sensibility for simple, low-heeled tall boots. I really like this brand and have this particular style. Unfolded they can go just over the knee -- folded -- just below.

LeeHovey, thank you for the two choices. Unfortunately
I am looking for something no higher than 2" heel I wish I could make it up to that height.
The other boot although grey which I love, would be too short for me.

Tarzy, I am between a 16" and 17" . The tabs on the boots I showed are at 16.5". I have a small foot 6.5,plus the high arch thing.

Did you have a hard time getting the Malorie boots on at first?
Do they have tabs inside to use boot pulls?
I also have a high arch, but my calf is 13" and the boot is 14".
I could be in denial here....

Any feedback would be helpful.

Kellee, the Malorie boots are the ones I want too. But I'm on the short side so I would definitely have to scrunch them to get them below the knee cap and I'm still debating whether that look will work.

What size do you wear? I can often wear 7.5 boots which is what I tried these on in but I would definitely need an 8. My calves are ~13.75in and I didn't have any problems getting them up even with the 7.5 but I probably did scrunch them in the process of getting them on and then pulled them straight. So I guess I'm suggesting either sizing up a half size, scrunching the boots to get it on, or if you have a really small foot maybe the shaft is narrower too. I hope they work out.

I wear a 6.5 in shoe. Sometimes in a boot I go to a 7.
I am not sure if they will be available to try on at this point at Nordstrom's. Maybe too late in the season?
If I get them online it sounds like the size 7 is the way to go? I have a 13" calf. Did I ask you if they had tabs inside to pull them up?The leather must be very supple if they are able to be scrunched down "like a sock" as they say on the website!
Did you see the grey pair when you tried your boots on?

Kellee, I don't think they have tabs-- at least didn't notice any. I actually tried on the grey which is the color I want. The leather soft and like a sock is fairly accurate but they are still a very nice quality.
