Scuffed up Fryes

Hi there!
What do you all do about really scuffed up Frye's? I am reluctant to dye them because it will really look uneven. Do you just wear them for super casual looks once they age that way? Also, how do I get Angie's thoughts on anything like this? I always have tons of things I wish I could ask her. I guess we all do!

I have a pair of tan cowboy boots that are quite scuffed up -- I just embrace the authentic distressing! I do give them a cleaning and a polish every so often, but they have a patina, that's for sure.

I would pay attention to heel wear, though. I think I need to have the heels on a couple of my pairs of boots refreshed.

Thanks Janet. I should polish them! The heels are actually really healthy! Just many scratches. I will give them a polish though!

You might try putting some leather conditioner on them instead of polish.

Frye makes a great leather conditioner that can bring your boots back to life. It depends on the leather though and it does tend to darken the existing leather slightly.

I LOVE a deeply distressed boot. I think it shows character and that they've been well loved; in fact, the hardest part of any new boot purchase for me is how UNscuffed they are. Ha!

Clean then, treat them, love them. They can add a whiff of RATE to an otherwise polished look, if that's your bag, too.

I feel the same as AnnieMouse! Dress boots I can see trying to keep polished and scuff-free, but most Fryes I think look great with the distressing (and I have many a pair of Fryes...)
