The tax free weekend had me scooping up several things. It feels like a lot to me, but I know many of you shop seasonally and in batches. For me, more than 2 or 3 things is very rare. It actually had me stopping to think if I needed each piece. Kind of like buyer's remorse I guess.
When I do think of it, the colors of the button fronts I've bought replace exactly the same colors of long sleeve knits that I've purged. So there is some method behind the madness, even subconsciously. Ironic, that everyone is knit frenzied, and I'm looking into wovens for once. Hunh.
I always worry about over saturating any one style, and have tried to keep with one light neutral, one dark neutral, and a color or pattern to start off. Then, if I find I do wear it and it has staying power, I can look into more. Well, if I consider the purple Alloy shirt (pic 2) as a starter piece to try the trend at a cheap entry level, with the blue as an upgrade, I'm on plan. (by the way, the blue looks way better IRL - I would never have looked twice at it online by that pic) Otherwise, I am starting to get carried away. I also have a black Costco Equipment-like top courtesy of Una.
And since they are a bit out of season for me still, I really need to put on the brakes, as I won't know just how often I'll wear them for at least another month or two.
The red random find dress and the blue blouse took the place of the white sundress I was contemplating.
The white shorts and blush blouse were on the list.
The hat has been a 'keep an eye out' since spring.
Time to chill out on the buying again
