Score? Kimberly Ovitz asymmetrical sweater

I don't typically buy things in artificial fibers, but my local boutique did some $ magic and I got this for less than the outnet price here: http://www.theoutnet.com/produ.....lSize=true

I will not be wearing it with pleated denim shorts.

Does anyone think I can get away with hand-washing this baby?

Love the top but I'd be wary of washing it. Viscose can shrink up crazy short in one wash

Cool sweater! I really like the asymmetrical hemline - will have to remember that for a future knitting project.

Since it's a viscose knit, I think you should be able to hand wash it. If it wants to shrink, you can block it back into it's original size and shape. Just lay it flat on a towel or something and pin it down to the towel in the correct shape until it's dry.

I'd dry clean too. Shrinking may be an issue with hand washing. A bigger concern with me would be fading. Sometimes synthetics hold dye like nothing else, and sometimes they hemorrhage it when you even think about getting them wet.

I've never handwashed viscose knits, just thrown them in the machine, nor ever had them shrink or bleed. Guess I'm jolly lucky! But yeah, I always handwash dark colours separately the first time to make sure they aren't going to bleed, or will at least stop in a few washes.

I would dry clean first.

This top would look great over white skinnies!

But your denim crops (your style) will work gloriously too - if you show me enough of your gorgeous lower leg

It's too bad there's no way I can wear this until the fall. It's in the high 90s every day here. Sometimes I yearn for Pacific Northwest "summers."

Score!! This is COOL!! I'm looking forward to seeing this in action - when the weather cools.

Handwashing? I've had some luck and some failures. I use handwash cycle in front-loading washer, then shake out, or tumble on low for just a few minutes, then lay flat to dry. I've not had shrinkage, but I've had unacceptable twisting, and the latest was an AT top that after the second or third wash suddenly got all big and baggy, like the knit had completely let go.

So, if you love it, dry clean it.

I'm such a rebel, I handwash everything that says DCO, unless it's a lined blazer. I haven't had any problems with viscose, but I wouldn't agitate it in the machine, not even the "hand wash" cycle. You could always try just washing the pits first.

Great top, and are you sure you can just wear it in the cold office over white bottoms? You could carry it there....
