Scarves: Indoor and Outdoor

What type of scarf can be worn indoor and outdoor during the winter? Is there such a scarf?

I have several scarves I feel can only be worn outdoors and I'd like to get one (or more!) that I could keep on during the day as part of my outfit. Am I asking for too much?

I think it is very doable.

If your skin (and budget!) can handle,it,look for a cashmere or cashmere blend scarf. Soft and thin enough for indoor wear, but will still keep you warm.

A big pashmina is a good bet. You have to like the big scarf look though. If you prefer a little ascot style or skinny scarf, you'd probably need an additional outdoor scarf if the weather is cold.

I also wear my triangular (or square folded in half) scarves bandanna style both indoors and outdoors. Some may be too lightweight for cold though. I have an advantage because I have a lot of hand knit ones which are both light and warm.

Fine knit wool or cashmere scarves can be worn indoors and they are warm enough for outdoors. If the scarf is bulky for me it is outdoor wear only.

I tend to run a little bit on the warm side, so this may not work for everyone, but I find that large silk scarves work well for me, both for indoor and outdoor wear. I could never wear cashmere indoors, as I would certainly overheat.
