Scarf style

Muffin

Just wondering if any of you can give me insight on whether these large light weight scarves are still in style or on their way out. I have another of this style and wear it regularly but was wondering if I should purchase another color (duplicating) or if I should look for something else entirely.

Looking to treat myself as I have been on a shopping ban since January and my birthday is coming up. In all honesty there are some wardrobe holes I should be filling (dreaded pants!) but an accessory seems more like a treat. Thanks!

I love scarves and wear them daily, so of course I think they're still in style! This lightweight style I like too.
I live in a winter climate though. I could see how scarves might not be in style in a hot environment.

Thanks Smittie- I feel that way too but have been noticing more the long, skinny trend in scarves, silk scarves and even neckerchiefs. I live in Portland, OR so I feel it's a good weight but really want to use it as a transitional piece to Spring. the only thing I dislike about the one I already own is I feel it gets in the way when eating so I tend to take it off and then seem left with a boring outfit. I will revisit the scarf again and see what my gut reaction is.

I think they're pretty classic by now. I love them and will always wear them. I find the long skinny scarves fussy and uncomfortable.

I know what you mean about wanting to take a larger scarf off to eat. At home I'll take it off but out and about I leave it on.

Yah, unfortunately I'm not the one to talk to about scarf lengths. The last two scarves I've bought have been longer wool blends, now that I think about it.

I think the cobalt colour is a great spring colour!

I echo Rachy and Diana, both for temperature control and adding pattern/color.

I'm not seeing the new skinny styes on the street yet here (waving at you from the Eastside). I got one as a gift recently but it's still living in the drawer.

(When dinner comes, I just kind of fidget the extra fabric toward my shoulder blades. But then I probably fidget with all my accessories, not necessarily an attractive habit.)

Thank you all- I agree I think these scarves are here to stay and I think I can always use it as a layering piece with coats if I tire of it as a daily accessory. Cerinda- I will futz around with ones I have to see if I can eat with it-I need to work on not choosing messy foods to eat when I'm out or use it as a bib!

I love them, wear them daily, and just did a post last week sort of asking the same question. I've taken the pictures down because I do that after a thread had run its course, but the overwhelming response was they are classic, not dated, and keep on wearing them.

Thanks Peri- I wish I would have seen your post (newer here & trying to keep more up to date). I've been convinced and I think if the color is flattering it will be something I will continue to reach for.
