"Satin" dress ... dressed down for work?

Dear YLF,

I must beseech your opinion on a fab deal I found online - this seems like a very pretty dress that I hope will play nicely with my closet! It's not A-line, but I find most of my closet is and wanted to wander away from this.

I'm pretty sure I will be able to dress it down; but any thoughts? Of course, it is returnable, but shipping is $10 :p

Methinks you'd better hit the "buy it NOW" button.
Fab dress! Fab price! It will look AH-mazing on you. Add low pumps, a cropped blazer and you are work appropriate.

I think it's gorgeous and bridging out from A lines is a wonderful idea! It could be a go to party frock with fun shoes or toned down with a jacket and boots. BBQ!

maybe it's just me, but something about this dress seems a bit dressy/party for work. I think it's the combination of the satiny sheen and the draping in the skirt part.

I love the cut and print of this dress! Very pretty. It's ultrafeminine and is a perfect cocktail/party dress. Depending on your work environment, I suppose dressing it down could work - you could fool around trying it with fitted blazers and denim, and booties...? Not sure, but give it a whirl. I think at that price, it's a steal!!!

Love the shape for you, but am unsure about the fabric for work (not my expertise, sorry!). Don't you have a skirt with a similar print?

For work places, I would think satin would be too dressy, but if it's a great bargain and you love it--go for it. You will certainly have many other occasions to wear such a pretty and classic dress.

Lyn, that's an unbeatable price and the thing is, if you get invited to another gala at the last minute, you would HAVE something. So even if you can't dress it down for work, you can certainly wear it out for dinner and such and then also have it in the closet for those unexpected party invitations.

If I can't wear it to work; then at least I can wear it for date nights. If I ever get any of those. *sigh*

Can't wait to see it on you! I agree that this would be difficult to dress down for work, but will be fantastic for dates, dinners, parties!

I hope it fits; that's what stops me from non-returnables!

I think it would be to dressy for work. But maybe your hospital has less nasties than mine. I'm biased though since I've spent 1/2 the day in the ED today.

I think if you wore a sweater over it that covered the top half and wore shoes that brought it down a notch, it could work for work. Ha

I went to H'attitude at PP tonight and was disappointed in their selection. Nothing like the last time I was there. bummer.
