Sartorial challenge: TV audience?

So my DH told me last night that I'll want to pack a "pretty dress" when I go down to London next week. Apparently not something formal, but "something that you wouldn't mind being seen on TV in" and "you'll definitely want a dress". I have no idea what he has cooked up but my best guess is tickets to be in the audience of some TV show or other.

The seasonally appropriate dresses I have at my disposal are:
1-2: black jersey, long sleeved
3: grey jersey
4: red jersey
5: blue jersey
6-8: black faux silk w/gathered top
9-10: grey "suit" fabric w/matching jacket

Since we will apparently have to stand in line in the cold for a while, possibly a few hours, I would prefer to wear tall boots or ankle boots. I have the lace up wedge boots in photo 1, the tall boots in photo 2, or the square toed boots in photo 11.

Possible toppers for the sleeveless dresses:
12: wool blend houndstooth
13: sparkly shrug that came w/the faux silk dress
14: tweed-y biker jacket that is a bit too small
15: plain super fine black jersey cardigan

Do any of these look ok or do I need to try and find something else?

Great selection of outfits to choose...I like 1 the black jersey long sleep and 2 for the shoes..the boots...You look really chic in all of your selections but these two just spoke to me..
I hope you have a great time going to London town and that you share your adventures with us...

What about the blue jersey dress with black jersey cardigan and black boots?
I'd worry that the houndstooth. Wouldn't read right on television -- I think the rule of thumb on TV is to avoid white or black & white pattern.

How exciting. I don't really remember the rules for TV dressing - I think the outfit in 5-8 looks the best, but I'll defer to those who suggest black isn't the best choice.

I like the dress in 1 and the one in 5 the best with tall boots. Both look warm and smart and flattering!

I like # 1 and 5. -/ they both look chic and good for cold weather and with the boots. If black isn't best, maybe you could add a scarf in s pretty color.

#5 is also my pick. I have heard blue looks good on tv!

I like #5 the best: it has a flattering neckline and the color is nice. I think it should work with all your footwear options.

Houndstooth jacket over the red dress!! Or the red dress with a black jacket or cardigan. But definitely the red dress have fun, can't wait to hear about your trip!!

I'm leaning toward the blue dress and the tall boots. It's the least clingy of all the options and DH liked it the best.

I forgot that I have a black drape-y waterfall jacket, so I might wear that. It suffers from the giant armhole problem that seems to be so common with plus size clothing but it's a little more sophisticated than the cardigan.

I also love the blue dress and can see you rocking it with the tall boots.

In the end I went with blue dress + black self-stripe tights + tall boots, and the drape-y jacket.

As it happens we didn't actually get to see the show -- it was one of those deals where they overbook to ensure that enough people show up to fill the studio, and we just happened to be a bit too far back in line. However, everyone who stood in line but didn't get in gets a priority ticket for any other show of their choice, so the next time we'll get in for sure! (The show, by the way, is called The Last Leg -- rather off-colour but I find it very funny).

We ended up going to a fancy jazz bar after waiting in line, so I was glad to be a bit dressed up. The music wasn't exactly to my taste but it was a nice evening anyway.
