Hi Fabbers,

I am looking for a wedge heel sandal for summer. Ideally I am looking for something with a bit off edge and black.

While searching I also found #1 which I thought could be good as a bit of a neutral? Working well with my black?

#2 has the simplicity I am looking for but the hardware is gold....do you thi k that matters? I am very much a silver girl.

Do you see either, or both, working for my style? And is #1 with the metallic plates still a current look?

I like both Deborah!
#2 for its simplicity,
#1 for the way it would serve as a neutral with outfits you want to take centre stage.
I don't think the gold on #2 would be out of place with your silver.
The wider ankle strap MIGHT be leg shortening with dresses, but I think would look stellar with flowy pants/ culottes etc.

Not sure about the gold for you Deborah but I like the weight of the black and think they'd go well with your drapey black tops.The silver I think would be more all rounders.
I wait to hear from others as to the currency of metallic plates.

I think I prefer #1 for you, though no idea how current those are. The gold I fear may get passed over because not your preference.

I really like both. The metallic especially appeals to me. I must admit that I've gotten a lot more use out of my non-black sandals than I expected, even though I also love black. I'm a silver girl too, so the hardware on #2 would be a deterrent to me.

#1 would go well with bookending your hair too. I don't think metal is dated at all.

I think #1 looks promising. I agree with the others that you could use it to bookend and it would also read as a near nude on your skin. So it would be flattering.

#2 seems "okay" but I worry about the gold hardwear and also that ankle strap would have to be "just so" not to bite you or to hit you at the wrong place, and the way it fastens it would not be terribly adjustable. So it would be better if you could try it on in person to see.

I like both but #1 is my favorite. Like the others, I think you might end up passing over #2 because of the gold, and the strap is thick, so it would have to fit perfectly to be comfortable, and it might end up shortening your leg line.

I like both (I can ignore the gold hardware), but it would totally depend on how they feel on. I love the metallic of #1, but that extra strap in the middle could be good for keeping sandal on or just horrible for constraining foot for walking.

I love both too. I agree with what others have said about the silver bookending you hair. Also they will serve to "lighten up" outfits that are mostly dark, eg black.

I think the nude qualities of #1 would work super well. What's your tolerance for mixing metals? On a scale of 1-10 I'm a 2, max. I'm a silver girl in the summer and could. not. do. the gold buckle.

I'm 100% a silver girl too but I live the simplicity of the second pair and is totally wear those with the gold hardware, no problem. In fact, I think I want a pair! What are #2? I feel like I recognize these ...

Great choices, Deborah. I like #1 for bookending your hair and lengthening your leg line with Summer looks. #2 has great drama. Unless you wear silver on your toes, I think mixing metals is fine. If someone is far enough away to visually take in both, say, a necklace, and shoe hardware, they're not going to distinguish a small gold clasp very distinctly. Someone close up won't see both metals in the same viewpoint.

I am also very much a silver girl, and the #1 sandals appeal right away. BUT, if they are the brand I tried earlier this year http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ.....#038;psc=1 stay away! They were sized badly and cheap looking.

I like both. If the ankle strap fits comfortably in #2, I can see them working well for you. I've found that I prefer the back zipper for easy on/off to messing with a buckle, but you lose adjustability. To my eye, the wide strap is more fashion forward than a narrow one.

I just love the black ones. I am noticing a trend in gold shoe hardware this season so I think the look is current. I think Angie and Caro have good solutions. Try them both and see which feel best on your feet and with your wardrobe.

Thanks so much for all you responses. #1 are on serious sale and wont hurt the budget. I think they might be a good addition to the wardrobe. Mo they are not the same as yours. Thanks for the warning.

The more I look at #2 I realise they would be a 'make do' purchase. They are not leather and I really do want this sandal to be a soft lovely leather and very good quality as they will become a summer workhorse.
