Hi Fabbers! Looking for advice—I’d love to hear your thoughts on these white sandals. I have a sporty pair (Geox) but want something a little dressier. I thought I wanted espadrilles until I tried them on—a little more organic than I wanted. I’ve ordered a few of the ones below and am tempted by the reviews of the Rockport (5) but can’t decide if they look too much like the sandals I wore 10 years ago? I have a pair of Taos slides with a similar wedge heel that narrows at the bottom—comfy but don’t want them to look like they’ve been in my closet for a decade? I’m beginning to question my taste—do any of these look current? Too clunky? Suggestions welcome! Thank you!

They ALL look current. Some more on trend than others, of course!

#1 - classic, and dressier. Versatile. Pretty

#2, #3, #4 - heeled platforms, so on trend. #2 is the MOST on trend.

#5 = wedges are back and on trend. So don't worry! If they are the ones you like best, please enjoy and wear with a happy heart.

Not sure the 2-4 brands to hunt them for finds. I would struggle a bit with the wedge sandals that have a platform, but just because I have a hard time keeping my foot from falling out without being more secured in the shoe.

You may have seen I was looking at #1, in part due to the lower heel. I am considering trying it some time. I'm not much help on trends, but like the look of #3 if you're looking for more of a platform sandal.

I'm just trying to work out trends for dressier sandals; my instinct was the 2 is the most modern looking but I also was reading about wedges being 'it' for this year ... So I'm not much help but think you're on the right track with these choices.

I totally relate to the feeling you describe; I saw something today in aritzia that I thought would be fresh on a 20 something but on me would look (to my eye) like I had been holding on to it since 2008 *sigh* ... Funny how trends are being redone virtually the same as the past version; I guess when they cycle so fast there's not going to be as much reinvention?

Thank you! I really like the look of 2 but there are no reviews so I'm not sure how they will fit. (I can't seem to do finds anymore but they're all from the Rack. The Aerosoles Carimma and the Nordstrom Rack Caleigh. Number four is Sam Edelman Alissa. I tried the Aerosoles in brown and they were comfy--not sure how they will look in white though... I saw the Clarks in your finds, Delurked, thanks! They might be best of the lot.

@Angie: The wedges I had were one of your finds - I think Clarks. I wore them for year but I don't have a photo anymore.

@Helena: yes! I was just lamenting in Janet's thread that nothing looks fresh anymore. I feel like I've seen and wore it all already. I'm normally always tempted by something but not so much anymore. I guess that's a good thing, sort of!

I think these are the ones. Let me know if you find any others. I didn't realize that Nordstrom Rack is an actual brand they use for an in house brand. That's a bit surprising to me. I think white shoes can look very fresh for summer. I've been veering toward nude or metallics, but I used to have a white pair of sandals and really enjoyed them.

Personally I like the first two best . I’m also finding offerings in all the local stores to be retreads of past seasons . Or if not that - they are crazy exaggerated bubblegum pink faux leather platforms .

Honestly I think anything almost goes now.....I see the first pair as very classic, the next three as the most trending, and the last as a revised classic. I had a pair of these type of sandals a few years back and they were so useful......they were a real workhorse for me.

I like #2 or #3 for style and versatility, especially #3 with the unique cork platform and heel. Both feel very current. I just am not feeling wedges lately. I have a pair of Aerosoles sandals in cream that are very similar to #3. My style is called Camera. I just love the way they look and I can wear them with pretty much everything, but they are not as comfortable as I had hoped they would be based on the reviews. Can’t do too much walking in them, but then my feet are tricky.

I ordered 2 and 3 to try. Still not 100% sold on the Rockport wedge. If I strike out, I'll try #1!

I’m liking 2-3 best and was thinking of adding something along those lines…before I veered in a totally different direction and got these instead, LOL. But I love a sculptural heel and feel like a really unique detail like that may prove more timeless than another trendy style, as much as I love my chunky footwear. I may still add another trendy platform sandal this summer.

Thanks for sharing, Laurie! Are they all day shoes for you? I’m tempted to try them since you have them in two colors! That’s quite a testament. Do you have them in wide or medium if you don’t mind me asking.

Reporting back with my findings. Nordstrom Rack one that looked the most "current" was also the most uncomfortable. I think it would be fine for standing but they feel a little plastic-y and pinch my pinky toes a bit. They'd be fine for standing and a little walking but I wouldn't reach for them. I ended up ordering a few pairs of Sorels:

Sorel slides are more cream than white but very comfortable. "Cameron Wedge Mule."

Multi-color strap Sorels--straps are soft leather and the heel is walkable. Versatile muted colors. "Cameron Wedge Espadrille."

Aerosoles - possibly the most comfortable of the lot and the most dressy. These are closest to what I had envisioned--something to dress up my dresses in lieu of my Stan Smith or Ecco 7 sneakers. The drawback, after trying them is the realization that I don't think I'd get as much wear out of them as the Sorels because they're more dressy.

I'm undecided right now but thought I'd share my reviews and some (poor quality) photos. I welcome your thoughts! I'll try to do a try on session this weekend.

I'd go with the least dressy and most comfy pair - since they are going to be sneaker upgrades for casual wear!

Those Sorel slides look so soft and look really good on your feet. The Aerosoles do look a bit dressier. The leather doesn't look as soft, but if they are the most comfortable of these options, that's something to pay attention to for sure. I really like the multi-colored ones. They remind me of the sorbet-colored sneakers I wanted recently (but returned due to poor fit). Happy and pretty summer colors.

I like the multi-coloured ones best but the strap looks too big at the back of your right foot? Also will they be as versatile as a plain pair?
I do like multi-coloured shoes myself so could be inadvertently putting my own preferences onto you!

I love both the multi-color sandals and the white Aerosoles. And while the Aerosoled could read dressy with the right outfit, I don't think they automatically lean that way. They would look equally at home with jeans and shorts as they would with a dress. Add that to the fact that they are the most comfortable, and I'd go with those for sure.

I like #4 the best, because the bright white, sculptural material and general 70s architecture makes a statement. And I think you could dress them down--with a tank top and jean shorts or whatever.
