Sandal situation update

I wrote last week about my sandal situation, and ordered some sandals suggested by our ever helpful Deborah, which were lovely but didn't fit.

Then on Thursday, when for the first time in ages I had about 3 hours to shop and I bought
1. The black sandals from Kmart as seen on Deborah ($20)
2. Sandals from Famous Footwear* (1 in Finds) ($19)
3 Zensu Sandals (2 in Finds) (on sale for around $97)

I ended up spending more on the flat more casual sandals than the heels, which was the reverse of my plan, but I think I am satisfied.

Thanks Deborah, I was really relieved to find some with more width around the toes.
I've just amended my post to thank you for recommending Famous Footwear which I'd never entered as it was tucked away in a corner of my local mall I don't get to much.

I'm really liking Famous Footwear. I used to only buy fairly expensive sandals, but in the last five years I found they really didn't last that well. They were good at first but were trashed in a season of not-too-hard-wear. The last two years I have bought several pairs from Famous Footwear and they are comfy and seem to last just as well as more seriously priced shoes!
LOVE those Zensu ones too....

Anne you are a sweetie. Clearly I shop too much lol. We have a Famous Footwear in our large shopping centre here and I have been surprised by their range. Some items are quite obviously cheap and others look and wear much better than you would expect from the price tag. I bought the ones in the pic last year (mine are cobalt and heel is little lower) and I am seriously thinking of adding the black. A really nice sandal for such a reasonable price.

Great! The heels look fun. And the flats are a lovely summer colour, and should be super comfortable on your feet. Thanks for posting your results : )

Lucy - it's good to know that the famous footwear ones lasted well. At the price I paid, I wasn't expecting much, just to keep myself in sandals when I was facing an immanent shortage. I have never really bought expensive sandals but I never count on them lasting more than one season.

And it may make sense to spend more on the casual ones since those are the ones you are likely to wear most. Quality matters more there.

Yay! I think these will serve you really well, Anne. Can't wait to see thim in action! I find that budget sandals tend to work out far better than the same quality in boots and winter shoes, since there is less need for linings, fancy foot bets, etc. I spend less on my summer footwear, but I like to have lots of fun choices!

Haha! It seems we are shoe twins Deborah. I too have the cobalt in that design with a slightly smaller heel!

Anne, I don't think the Famous sandals will last forever, but they seem completely comparable to the ones I was buying at $150. So they seem like better value to me.

This outfit ( pink top, striped skirt ) is just fabulous on you. The black sandals are the perfect finishing touch.
