I have been desperately seeking sandals, and ordered four pairs of from Penney’s, a place I often buy teeshirts, tops and jeans. When there was a mall store here, it used to be a regular source of everything from decent office wear to pajamas. Possibly we single-handedly supported the girls’ department when my children were young.

Now the general quality is fine for the price and when I end up with a work horse, it will last forever, just like my gray corduroy jeans which must be ten years old. And I find the website easy to shop.

Okay, the sandals. All of them feel better for my low volume feet and have adjustable closures, both good features.

Pair 1, they’re a.n.a. brand - gladiators with thick white soles. Comfortable and sized okay. I really liked the cushioned soles feel and appearance, but the straps were flawed. I could easily have kept and worn these for one or more summers.

Pair 2, also a.n.a., black straps with thick sole, these have the same sole, which again I really like. But the uppers are vinyl and very thin, making me worry they’ll fail quickly.

Pair 3, Bare Traps. The color is not exciting, dull navy. I don’t like navy shoes, so I’m not sure why I picked this one. The sole is almost too small and not comfortably cushioned. All in all, too ordinary without good fit redemption.

Pair 4, Bobs by Skecher. These I will keep. I feel they flatter my feet. The material is substantial, I like the color, and the Velcro is super strong. The buckle is just decorative on the Velcro strap. Hopefully the toe strap will not rub too much.
