Phase 2 of my Sam's Club jackets! You were awesome in giving advice yesterday while I was still at the store. I ended up bringing home the top two choices and pulled lots of pieces out of my closet in styling attempts. I seriously think I have more clothes than I need. Naturally, some work better than others - white jeans is a no brainer - but there may be some hot messes in here too.

What do you think of the fit? Is either jacket close to a 9 in the fit, flatter and color departments?

And the various stylings?

I wasn't actually looking for a jacket but just stumbled upon them, so don't have a problem returning one or both. Since they aren't lined they're really quite comfortable and stretchy.

I'm looking for constructive criticism here, so please slice and dice away!

P.S. These white Kut Diana's still need to be shortened. What do you think of the length in pic 1? That is probably the highest heel I'll wear them with other than my Petty booties.

Please keep the cobalt! It looks fab. I far prefer it to the stripey one (and I hae a sugar eye for stripes).

I'd like a little more scrunch on the white pants. How much are they tucked under? I like the scrunch on the taupe colored pants for instance--can you match that or is the fabrication too stiff? LOVE the cobalt blazer. I really like the striped one too but if I had to choose one, I'd keep the cobalt. The lapels on the stripe look a little wider too. Not a deal breaker but the cobalt look super versatile and is such a flattering color on you too.

I think both jackets are fantastic. How do they look buttoned closed? Did I miss pics yesterday? They look super fab with the pencil skirts and great with all the pants here. The only one I'm not keen on is the taupe pants rolled up and worn with the taupe shirt. I feel the rolled hem is too casual and the blue and the taupe too far from each other, colourwise, without a bridge.

I vote cobalt. It looks more polished with the outfits and has more presence. The stripe tends to fade away.

@Ceit, thanks for the cobalt props in spite of your love of stripes!
@Kelly, there is a good 3" to play with on the jeans length. Thanks for confirming my suspicion that they should be longer. I just found out the Rack nearest me has alterations so I'm going to have them shortened there now that I have a Nordstrom's card. I'm so over shortening my own pants
@Rachy, I forgot to post a pic buttoned. I'm not too worried because I doubt I would button it anyway. And I'm withyou on the taupe combination - that was one of my hot messes. I did want to try pulling out things that were a little less obvious though
@Unfrumped, thanks! Interesting observation about the stripes fading away. Angie has commented about blues working for brunettes

Since i kept both, not sure I am objecetive,..I see how both could really have great use in your wardrobe and for the price and comfort of these think both is a good thing!

Can you keep both? Because I love them both on you! And I love every single styling of both here except maybe the taupe rolled pants and top and even that one would be okay with a bit of tweaking.

If it is a choice, then you know I will say the cobalt. It's just stunning on you, and will be so, so versatile.

Do you know the story of my fuchsia knit jacket? $20 at H&M late last summer. At the time, I actually felt a bit guilty about the purchase. It seemed frivolous. I really like a streamlined closet and don't really want to rely on fast fashion and yadda yadda yadda. But anyway, I bought it. And I thought it wouldn't get worn at all. Well, it turns out I wore it so much that I more or less wore it out. I couldn't stop wearing it! I loved it! (I still have it, but am hoping to "trade up" to a better quality version.)

This bright colour turns out to work with half the things in my closet. And it doesn't wrinkle, so I could travel with it. Cozy like a sweater, but more structured. It was perfect.

End of story. You can figure out the moral!

Me too, re: the hemming. SO sick of that. DH always asks if I will hem his pants and I respond, "Do they have to be even?" He then proceeds to take them to the cleaners

What's the price range of these blazers anyway, if you don't mind me asking. If they are reasonable, I would keep both because nice fitting knit blazers are hard to find and these fit you SO well!

Pil, I think you should absolutely keep the cobalt (and because of how great it looks I am having second thoughts about selling a very simal coral jacket I have listed on ebay lol) - the cobalt is a 10 IMHO. Yesterday I liked the striped jacket but you now today I feel it is just a bit bland. I would be inclined to return it. I am thinking perhaps something with wider stripes of more dominantly black and then white would look more striking.

I'd def. keep the cobalt jacket and I think it's a 10! If the price is right you could certainly keep both - I particularly like the striped one with the outfit in the first image of #4. I also think the striped jacket would look great with BF jeans (lighter, faded preferably) and navy top under.

The cobalt is a no-brainer.

I also like the stripes, but , for me, would look at how the stripes line up on the side seams. A mismatch of stripes drives me nuts, so I always look at that.

The other hesitation is your comment, "I seriously think I have more clothes than I need." Make me wonder if adding 2 jackets right now is something you want to do.

For what it's worth, the jackets were just under $20 - does that make it worth a trip to Sams @Amiable??

And a final thank you to @Isis for reminding me that "I seriously think I have more clothes than I need." Also, I made a point of digging through the pile for the best pattern match on the stripe. The front is good, but I now see the back seam is off a bit.

Cobalt it is. The stripe will go back, not because I don't love it too, but don't need it. I think the solid cobalt and ponte fabric will be versatile across both wardrobe and seasons.
