I'm very impressed with the comfort of the Sam Edelman red booties that I got (one of Angie's picks). I've also been kind of looking at the Sam Edelman python booties that Angie, Inge and others have. You also know/remember that I adore cowboy boots and was sad when my taupe ones finally bit the dust.

Well...this may be the perfect solution to EVERYTHING...it's snakeskin, it's cowboy, it's a bootie...I think I might be in LOVE!

I like these, Shannon, but I wonder whether they'd be as versatile as the other version. Would you wear these to work?

They are fab, but since I own a pair of Frye Billy shorties I feel I can add from experience that the only way to wear them is with bootcuts. That said, they are fab for that purpose.

I love my red Sam Edelmans too! I have been wearing them every day with everything!

Parsley and Laura - excellent points regarding versatility. I can't have something in my wardrobe that can only be worn one way so these may not be practical at all. I wasn't seriously thinking of ordering them...just kind of musing.....

Laura - I do love the red Edelmans. I am noticing though when I wear them without hose/tights (as I am currently) the pull tabs rub on the outside of my bare leg to the point of discomfort. They are fairly stiff. When I try them with tights though, that isn't an issue. Have you encountered this?

Uh-oh, boot rubbage! Hope that's not a permanent issue.

My DVs actually feel better - I think I'm just not used to anything fitting around my calf that way.

I don't think the rubbing will be a permanent problem - at least I hope not.

Yes, TS, my boots do the same - I could tell they would rub the first time I tried them on. So I decided I would wear them with socks or hose only and I was fine with that.

I was going to wear them with micro fishnets, though, for a special event and I hope they don't tear up the hose. It's a possibility!

Fab boots! I quite like the gun metal. But if they are not going to be versatile I would question buying them.

I'm thinking these might not be as versatile. I love the Edelman booties. Were your old cowboy boots taller? how did you want to wear them? I agree with Laura they kind of get hidden under bootcuts most often, but if they are comfy then that's ok.

Laura - in a strange way, it's kind of nice to know you have the same issue with the red booties. At least it wasn't just my pair! I'm wondering the same thing about micro fishnets being snagged. Would love to hear from you how they work out if you don't mind.

Oh my Jeanne - those boots are gorgeous! No wonder you're in love. My old cowboy boots were a little taller than these Sam Edelman's and I did wear them with bootcut jeans as well as dresses.

I agree that these Stevie boots are not versatile and will not buying - but I can "ooh and aahhh" over them from afar...

Pil - how sweet of you to send that link! Those are fab, aren't they? Now that I've thrifted my nude booties though, I think I'm going to pass on any other footwear...at least for a while! Thank you though.
