Salt Lake City earthquake...

P.s. if we have a Fabbers ( or their relatives) in SLC hope they will chime in. It does sound manageable but there are always aftershocks and I have never experienced an EQ so I’m clueless about what it’s really like.

My daughter lives in SLC but works and stays 2 hours south of there Tuesdays through Fridays. She texted me this morning that it woke her up! Sounds like the worst was very near the city.

Actually, SLC JUST had ANOTHER earthquake while Greg was video-conferencing with the company a moment ago. It's mind-blowing.

Things seem okay for now.

Robin, I hope your DD and family are fine. Our home in SLC is IN the city. We are hunkering down and locking down in Seattle.

Wow Angie. Apparently the aftershocks continue for days or weeks after most largish quakes.

SIL lives in South Jordan--she is okay. Many relatives still live in Utah Valley, seem to be okay. I saw that there is a chemical spill at Kennecott, but they now say it's not dangerous.

I was working at a summer job in downtown SLC in '62 when a quake about this size hit. I was in the typing department on the 3rd floor of an old Montgomery Ward Building that was converted to office. We sat and watched a crack appear and wiggle up the wall. Our supervisor sent us downstairs and outside.

There have been several big quakes there over the years.
