A virtual party is a wonderful idea - thank you for hosting, @Sal! I've chosen to wear this secondhand blazer because I've been holding onto it for a formal event but am unsure how to wear it - & where else to get great good fashion advice than YLF? Lol

I bought it because I was drawn to the silhouette (sweetheart neckline & peplum - in a jacket!) but there's a lot going on with the colours (I see green & teal & even pink in there too?). The gold buttons were a no-brainer to pair with gold jewellery & shoes, then the orange base with an orange mask & makeup, but which colour dress?

I chose a trusty dark brown silk dress (last 2 photos show the exact chocolatey shade accurately), but would love to branch out into other colours without looking clownish (@Sal said 'creative' black tie but still... lol) @rachylou would go with your teal dress?

That jacket has wonderful colours and goes beautifully with the brown silk dress. This is a great choice for a party.

@Katerina Yes, when I saw it I simply had to have it! I appreciate the 'perfectly executed' compliment, especially since you always look so put together yourself! I applied my eyeshadow with my fingers though, haha!

@Brooklyn I'm a sucker for brocade - I believe our equivalent is banarasi. Yes please, thank you for the welcome to Team Teal - now if only I could find more actual teal clothing in my life

Stunning. And everything goes together so perfectly. I didn’t even put on any makeup with my outfit- need to up my game!

Stunning - that jacket is amazing on you and perfectly styled for a formal occasion. I would wear this with denim or black pants to be able to wear this jacket more casually. If you look at sites like Net-a-Porter, Yoox and Farfetch and look at the styling of their tweed and brocade jackets, it will give you ideas on how to get more wear out of this stunning piece. Here are two denim ideas with very elaborate jackets.

And there is no such thing as being overdressed - the jacket is really lovely. I think you have styled it perfectly - I think letting it be the star is what I would do too.

I don't have any real styling tips on the jacket but I concur with the previous poster that it would be fun to see it with jeans, etc., it seems like it could be very a versatile statement piece.

Wowsa! I like the combination of the warm brights of this gorgeous jacket with the column of dark created by the dress, your glowing skin, and dark hair. Glad you had an opportunity to wear the jacket, and like Bijou’s suggestions for casual. Teal green linen trousers with a simple flat sandal and neutral (cream or tan?) tank top underneath would be fun, too.

@Jenni - Tere's no need for makeup or social distancing, but I couldn't resist the chance to go all out orange for both! (Out here in HK, it's practically impossible to socially distance due to the population density - so face masks are a must instead!) Also I may have makeup on but I clearly didn't iron the dress, so there's that
