Sales Day 2 - the disaster!

I had zero luck today. The purple dress I wanted sold out and the SA doesn't think it will be restocked. And the Mephisto grey sandals, perfect as they were, had one flaw - when I walk in them for a bit the ankle strap chafes my leg. Badly. :'( So I came home empty handed. Sigh.

There's another pair of sandals I saw at Mephisto, but I don't know if they are as nice. What do you think?

I'm sorry Kirti. I hate it when you go back to get something and it's gone or it doesn't fit right. ;(

I think the pair of Mephistos look nice, but will they do the same thing to you that the other pair did?

So sorry you couldn't get either of the items you wanted. I must admit that I like the grey Mephistos better then these red ones. The red ones reminds me a bit of 1970's "health care" shoes/sandals and I'm not sure that's the vibe you're looking for.

The good thing is that you "saved" some money and that new and nice items will come every season. This is not your last chance, be patient

Oh that stinks! Sorry you missed the dress. But I consider your Mephisto sandal no-buy an actual success - better to find out now they aren't going to be comfortable then a week after you've bought them and can no longer return them.

The new sandals you've posted are nice but are definitely not a neutral shade like the grey - are you looking for low or high contrast colour in a sandal?

That's tough luck Kirti, I'm sorry. I didn't see the grey ones you posted, but it sounds like you might be "settling" for these red ones. Can you look some more until it's *true love*?

Thanks Kristin! Those had a strap higher up on my leg that chafed, but these didn't do that when I tried them on.

Thanks harmonica! I admit that these are not as edgy/cool as the grey ones!

Shannon: I agree. I am lucky I took the time out to test them properly in the shop! To be honest, I am just looking for well fitting, sandals. I already have a grey option in mind that I have not bought yet, but might go back and get. Red to me is neutral as well but it may not be as versatile. Sigh!

Claire: I have been looking all these months with no luck :'( I haven't made up my mind about these yet, I like them but not as much!

Aw, that's tough luck! How expensive is this pair? Could you buy them as a stopgap and keep looking in case something perfect (and set higher standards for it, now you have a bird in hand) comes up?
