Rute - trip to Lisboa

Rute: Yes, I will be visting Lisbon and Obidos! I have been to both places before. This will be my fourth trip to Lisbon. I'll be arriving in Lisbon on June 27 and going to Obidos most likely afternoon of June 28. Usually when I get there, I love to shop on Rua Augusta - there are a couple of smaller shops where I have been extremely lucky to find things and then I also like some of the bigger shops like Zara's. If you are around, would you like to get together?

I love to shop also in Rua Augusta, it has lots of stores and always great promotions. You must also go to chiado! It is near, it has lots of bigger stores and the architecture is lovely, it has lots of great places to drink a cup pf coffee, I'm not sure i'll be available on that weekend.. it depends.. I think on this weekend the father of my daughter is not taking her.. and it is complicated to go shopping with children..
There is also also El Corte Inglés (near Eduardo VII park) it's a big space were you can find everything, shoes, clothes, make up of lots of labels and designers.

Oh! I'm so jealous. I love Lisbon - it's such a fun place to explore. Rute - hopefully someday soon, I'll be visiting again - my husband and I were married in Madeira and we love everything about Portugal.

hi Rute - thanks for the information. I have not been to Chiado and will try to check it out. I have been to El Corte Inglés. The other place I went to was Colombo where there were also many shops that I don't always see here.

Angie - Portuguese food is SO divine.

Rute - if your plans change, just let me know. Or if your daughter and you (I have young kids who I'll be leaving at home) want to get together for a "play date" that would be fun too.

Debora - my husband spent some of his time growing up living in Acores which he really enjoyed.

Yes, having been there 3 times has been wonderful. I love whatever little I've seen of it, including all the touristy stuff, the shopping, the food, Fado (love Christina Branco), and the people!

And the beaches? We have great beaches.. I personally love the ones on the coast of Alentejo, they have not many tourists and I always feel away from everything.. my favorite is comporta and Porto Covo is lovely too.
It's nice to know that you always enjoy Portugal and keep coming back.

The beaches are one thing I haven't done. We are surrounded by mountains and water here as well so I haven't sought out the beaches yet, plus I usually go for a really short time. I have a client there and am lucky enough that they invite me back regularly.
