Fresh on the heels of Sears Canada slashing all of it's prices across the board by up to 30% comes the news that Sears Canada is closing three of it's flagship stores (Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa).
Meanwhile, the first thing I thought was, "Gee...I wonder if Nordstrom would move into Pacific Centre at the old Eatons/Sears store?"
Looks like I'm not the only one thinking these things:

And:
"The sale of the three Canadian leases, in prime sites in Vancouver, Calgary and Ottawa, also could open the way for U.S. department-store retailer Nordrstrom Inc. to finally pick up coveted space in Canada..."

For those of you who have shopped at a variety of different Nordstrom stores, would you say that a store as big as this one is *too* big? The store in Pacific Centre used to be Eatons, then turned into a fancied-up Sears, but the thing is - the store is seven floors, and each floor is quite large. It's a huge store - about 600,000 square feet.
I'd love it if Nordstrom moved into that space...I think they'd do extremely well.
