Don't know if you know, but Gap has a sale at the moment and the silk dress you and I have both been crushing on is on sale (£25 down from £45).

No problem. I have lost a bit of weight recently and was slightly disappointed when I didn't find a 14, but grabbed the 12 and it fit, which made my day!

I am crossing my fingers that it will still be there for you in a weeks time!

I'm happy you found the dress in your size Fi, I think if the dress is gone next week I will pay full price on ASOS, I can see myself living in this dress!

Oh and congratulations on your weight loss, it does but a spring in your step when you drop a dress size.

I wore it twice this past week to work and got comments both times. OnceI wore it with black boots and grey tights and a black loose cardigan, the other time with black tights and courts and a red cardigan. I can't wait to hear what you are going to wear it with!

I think that I will sew the dress up the front as the buttons are spaced quite far apart and they gap a little sometimes.

The size down thing is a bit strange for me at Gap as I find that it is normally reasonably true to size.

I think the dress in probably designed to be worn looser. I sized down to avoid the dress from looking like a smock dress. I was able to this as the measurements on the shoulders were very similar. I'm liking the idea of black micro fishnets, ankle boots and a slim studded belt with dress. However as the dress is a B'day present from my husband I have to wait a month to wear it.

Melanie, I think you should head to Gap to try the dress, they also had some very cute silk shirt dresses in plain muted colours.

I agree with Roseandjoan. The same dress is available in black and also in a dark eggplant purple. I am tempted to get the purple, but I want a dark cranberry coloured dress to be my next purchase.
