Road Trip Report: I think I packed pretty right.
Re-cap scenario: 10-day, car-camping roadtrip across five states, culminating in Yellowstone. Temps ranging from 20s to 90s. Weather included rain and ice pellets (!!). It got so cold in Yellowstone that my cell, glucometer and car keys wouldn't work. My glucometer in fact TOLD me it was too cold. Gave Puffy to Mum and wore a sleeping bag.
This is what I took:
-2 sundresses, tan with light grey plaid, light grey floral
-1 denim overalls, blue
-1 cotton skirt, light grey floral
-1 bracelet sleeve tee, dark grey
-1 short sleeve tee, charcoal grey
-10 socks (3 wool socks, 7 footie socks)
-1 sneakers, grey
-1 Crocs, Brown
-1 thermal shirt black
-1 fleece leggings dark brown
-1 cotton leggings, dusty pink
-1 linen topper
-1 jacket
-1 long Puffy black
-balaclava black
-gloves
-sun hat (in pic)
-grey kerchief
There was a moment where I thought the short sleeve tee would turn out unnecessary, but I wore it and everything in the end with the exception of the footie socks. I had maybe 4 pair extra. But y'all know me, no such things as too many socks!
There was also a moment when I couldn't button up the tan plaid dress, my all-time camping dress. That was at night, putting it on in my tent. But it buttoned up in the morning, go figure. Tragedy tho, the first thing I did when I got home was get a pocket caught on a doorknob and ripped it. I'm hoping I can repair the pocket.
The overalls were maybe not the most practical, except they have a lot of pockets. And they did look a bit funny with me wearing all my thermals and jacket UNDER them. Lol. But at some point it seemed easier.
Will post some scenic photos in Off Topic. Ok.
