River Island, anyone ever ordered anything

Every once in a while I see something from river island that intrigues me. Right now, I've been looking at this interesting navy top

But i don't know anything about this company,so I'm reluctant to buy. Anyone ever bought anything? How's the quality? Any shipping issues? Sizing?

I feel like they're so familiar to me but I don't know why. Perhaps Angie has featured some things from them? They do seem to have nice things at nice prices.

I love that top. I've never heard of that retailer, so I poked around to read their policies. Since they don't cover postage for international returns, I won't order. But if you are in the UK, it looks like they do cover returns cost.

ann --thanks, i hadn't gotten thru to the return costs yet....i quess i was just stuck on admiring the top. it reminded me of the one in in angie's flare ensemble, but at a quarter of the price.

I have a knit River Island dress that I got via Asos. I'm in the US and note that their sizing is based on UK measurements, so the dress is a UK 12 (US 8). No issues with quality -- it's a decently made piece for the affordable price. No experience ordering directly from RI, though.

Standard british high street stuff, quality is probably equivalent to topshop, or perhaps half a step down. The stores are always full of young women and thumpy music but you can occasionally find decent items among the tenny-bopper, clubbing in Ibiza stuff.

My fav boots are from there. £20 in the sale 5 years back. Lining ripped this year and I'm still wondering how to rescue them

If my memory serves me right Tanya has a moto, pale blue I think, that she got from there. I'm actually in UK and I've only ever bought a cardi from them a few years back. Quality and fit was fine. It may help to get Tanya's POV on buying from the US though. Maybe you could message her if she doesn't spot this thread.

Gem and Diane, thanks so much for chiming in. i'm thinking that ordering from them maybe more of a gamble than its worth. will have to try harder to see if i can find something similar at the same price here in the US.
