Rip Skirt style lab

Adding the rip skirt to Sal’s Challenge seemed like too much. It deserved its own styling lab. So here are the results. Some of the colors do not look true on my screen.
First up the shoulder pad top. (1 2) Imagine a variety of black tops with this skirt, Including a black swim suit top (longer, not bikini but tankini).
Next, a red- orange top/or jacket (3/4)’which picks up one of the colors in the skirt. (5/6): skirt with apple green cardi and olive tank.
Then, 7/8, peach top, 9/10, peach top with olive jacket, 11/12, olive sweater.
I don’t think 13/14 work. The top is a striped print. #15 is an aqua shirt worn out. Again it is close to a color in the skirt.
What do you like, if anything? Suggestions are welcome.

This is a great skirt! You are so creative, many interesting combinations here. My favorite is no 4 - this one was a clear winner for me from the start. You look stunning in this outfit. I also love 5 and 6 - fun mix of pattern and great colors. Next favorite is no 15.
13/14 are certainly interesting, but not my favorite here.

This is a lovely skirt and very versatile. Love with black top #1, also #4, great blazer, #5/6 and 15. But you look amazing in all.

Well hi, skirt twin!

I like the earlier ones the best, but I tend to like solids with a printed skirt better than pattern mixing, and I particularly like the coral/peach combinations with this skirt. But honestly they all work! What a great addition to your wardrobe — lots of versatility!

Joy, you wear this skirt so well!

Like Janet, I tend to prefer a solid top with a patterned skirt (at least when the pattern is as attention-grabbing as this one) so I really like 1 through 4 and 7. I also really like it with that apple green cardi, though I'm not 100% sure of the proportions -- it might just be a camera angle thing, though, as I can imagine that style of sweater working with this cut of skirt.

What a great print, and cute style on you. This skirt seems to go with a lot of things in your wardrobe. I like all, except 8, 13, and 14. I like the peach top better with the olive topper, and I think 13-14 is just too fashion forward for me!

Thank you, all you stylish ladies. This was a huge help to figure out how to wear this skirt. As you can see, many of the colors of the print I already had in tops and toppers, but some are better than others. Some I do not like as much as I expected to, but black and a yellowish olive seem to work well. Strangely I do not think any of my prints work and the sweater I tried seems too long. I do not like the proportions of that one. My swim suits are dark brown and tropical print and a navy and turquoise print. I can put together an all black tankini and have black and white and brown coverups. This skirt would be best with the black I think.

Lots of great combinations! I prefer it with the shorter tops and you wear the padded shoulder tank beautifully. I like the color combination in #8 a lot too.

The skirt gets an A+ for versatility! I think shorter tops look best for proportion and silhouette, but I love the skirt with the mid tones of the green coloured long sweater, and the coral/peach top. When travel is a thing, you could build a whole travel capsule around the skirt!

I have this skirt and what a workhorse, and Joy you are right, I have worn it over an organgish bathing suit.

You could scrunch this skirt in a ball and still just give it a shake and voila! I liked this skirt so much when I purchased it, I bought another I in a different pattern, and color blue and white.

Thank you, Runcarla. Building a travel capsule around this skirt is an excellent idea. For others that have this type of skirt, do you wear shorts under it? Mine wraps so far that it does not come open, but I wondered

I like 1 and 4 most too- and great skirt print! I have it in black, but find it a bit fussy tbh. Just doesn't stay put :/

Catherine, any print skirt can be a challenge. I hope these outfits helped.
Linda, I will look for an orange bathing suit. Mine needs to be a tankini to give access to the stomach area while still covering it.
April, thank you. That orange ( my red) jacket has been a workhorse. It has been worn far more than a couple of red ones that I thought I needed.

Thank you, Suntiger. I wanted the black skirt but wanted to get away from black. I took black on a tropical vacation and found it just looked all wrong,something about the light. I want to build a small tropical vacation travel capsule that includes this skirt, as Runcarla suggests and use orange and greens. Maybe you need a different size or to readjust the Velcro. Mine stays put, so far.

Thank you, Glory and Jonesy, for your comments. I liked #1 and #4 too. I also liked #10 and felt I could use other colors of tops under that same jacket. The jacket is an old EF and is a blend with linen, so a good warm weather jacket.

4 and 13, hands down. Clean lines, simple adornment, but high interest through colour for a high interest skirt!

This skirt is one of those magic garments - the colors all look great, especially the blacks and reds. Great style sesh!

I am taking one of my Ripskirts this weekend to Long Island where we're going to a couple of events, including a casual outdoor wedding. It's going to be chilly so I packed a black, long sleeved Banana Republic wrap top. I'll try to remember to take a pic, I liked the 2 wrap effects together. It feels slimming, let's see if it looks the same!
