Whew! An emotional few days ...
My partner and I are close in age so experienced The Hip at similar stages in our lives. Gord Downie's voice is inextricably linked to a very specific and wonderful time in my life. It's been fun/emotional to remember those times in the past few days.
Janet, how cool you got to meet Gord and the rest of the band members. They are beloved here in Canada. Johnny Fay is married to a former (and beloved) Toronto sportscaster.
Wow Suz, I can't imagine being in Kingston right now. The only other place that might come close is the Horseshoe Tavern!
Carla, we've been listening to Josie Dye on indie 88 a lot. We've also caught a few tributes on TV. He was so loved.
Inge, how cool you know The Hip! We might be of a similar vintage as I listened to them a lot at those ages too!
Ah Clare, Justin Trudeau's tribute was a heart breaker.
Rachy, I agree.
Style Fan, even thought they're Kingston boys they still have a cottage country/northern Ontario feel to me.
