Ring around the collar - specifically on non-iron shirts?

I have not worn my BB magic shirts for a long, long while now... because I cannot seem to bust the ring around the collar! I have tried many online suggestions to no avail. Wondering if the non-iron treatment is the culprit. Anyone have a tried and true fix?

Shout it out!

I just posted this on another thread... wet the area with Shout, then make a paste with Shout and Tide with Bleach. Apply and let dry, then wash.

Have you tried a straight on application of low quality shampoo? I've heard it is the best because it is formulated to remove the oils from your scarp, which are really the culprit there. I've found Dawn dish soap (the cheap original formula, nothing fancy) is also extremely effective to remove stains, but use caution. It can bleach clothes. If your shirts aren't white, I would spot test the Dawn first.

I have already tried the Gold Dial and the shampoo.

IK, does your method work without the bleach? One of my shirts is light blue.

Seconding Dawn! It is a mega degreaser -- I know this is gross, but it is what we use to get grease out of bone when preparing skeletons.

Rae, the bleach in TWB is very mild. I've used it on all sorts of colors.

Hm the Dawn didn't help me, either. I am getting close to the cost of another shirt with all these potions. :T I will definitely try the tide/shout next I think...seems like a more heavy duty method. Thanks, all! Please keep ideas coming if you have them.
