Right outfit for the occasion? Need your input!

I got a call yesterday from my formerly best friend - I've known her since kindergarten because our parents were friends and we two were best friends for a long time. Our parents fell out with each other four years ago and although that didn't have anything to do with me, she then just stopped talking to me. I'm still sometimes sad about it all. Now she called and asked if I wanted to meet up for coffee on Sunday, because she's in Berlin this weekend. I said yes, but I have no idea how this encounter will go!

And now I need the perfect armor for Sunday. I want to be comfortable, feel safe in my outfit and still look fabulous. And I don't want to look like I've thought about my outfit as much as I have. Was I successful?

Sorry that there's no picture of me wearing it all, but I'm already in my pj's and knackered.

How would you dress if you were in this situation?

I think your outfit looks great.My only concern is how the socks will look, but that's something you can't judge until you see it one.

Maybe you could also add a necklace or earrings. Good luck on Sunday!

Thanks Kristin! I wear these argyle tights a lot with the black skirt, I like the combination. Earrings or a necklace are a good idea, I'll have to decide on that when I see the outfit on.

I think this is perfect, colourful but not enough to 'shock' someone, if you know what I mean. The tights are a fun way to add interest in a not too loud way. All in all, a fabulous Astrid outfit which doesn't look like you are overthinking it. Rather than a necklace, I would add small earrings - silver go echo the buttons on the jacket and to 'go' with the black and grey.

Nice outfit! You asked how we would dress for such an occasion. I for one would dress nicely, as I always try to do, and not worry about what the other person thinks. In the end, I have to feel good about myself and what I'm wearing. I'm sure the outfit you chose will be just fine.

Thanks Suz! We'll see how it goes, but I'm really glad about this meeting, like you said. Just a bit nervous! The weather should be alright for this kind of outfit, especially if we meet in the early evening. If it's too hot I can still take the jacket off (it's a sleeveless top underneath) and the tights should be alright, they are fairly thin.

Thanks Kirti! Not 'shocking' is good. I think she will be a bit shocked anyway, because I look so different - four years are a long time. I like the idea of silver earrings, I have a few to choose from. They would definitely be not as fussy as wearing a necklace with the denim jacket.
