ETA pics: Revue leather jacket vs. Classiques/Halogen

I had brought home the Classiques Entier Lamb Moss jacket - wanting a leather I can wear indoors as a blazer, pushed up sleeves and all. It is definitely a green and NOT getting along with the other colors in my closet. It seems to only play nicely with denim and black -- at least in my wardrobe. It does NOT like my new tan satchel for fall.

Yesterday, I brought home the petite Halogen tiered jacket. It's a little heavier but should still work indoors (I think) and black is a no-brainer.

Then I tried the Revue leather jacket and it is a lovely color. They didn't have my size, so I'd need to order, but should I even bother? It didn't make Angie's cut (like the other two did) and I wonder why. . . . . . . . . the pics make it look pale and rather fugly.

Any input, or experience with Revue, or thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thanks for bearing with me

It's a pity that the Moss jacket is fighting with your wardrobe, Sara. It's a magnificent cut. But I get it. The colour is NOT for everyone. I advised some of my clients against it precisely because of the colour.

Lets see the tiered jacket on!

The Revue jacket is a pretty jacket - but the fit did not make my cut (pun intended). Most of my clients tried it on and all no go. Too stiff and cardboard-y. Collar requires a very long neck.

I tried on the Revue and didn't like the leather--it wasn't so nice on and the sleeves were too big--not long--just big around.

I loved the Halogen, but it was too tight around the middle for me, and I was really looking for a jacket in a lighter color. It was fun to try it on though.

MsMaven - the one I got to try felt pliable enough, but I could be disappointed when I order. (I do love roomy sleeves (they are my fit hot button),but then they look baggy.

The black one is hard to photograph for sure. . . but I tried.

And I think the green isn't as bad as it was the other day (clearly I cannot trust my own opinion) -- even with my satchel and mixing all sorts of mid-range drabs together. . .

What do you think? Appreciate any thoughts

I like it with the satchel a lot, actually. I like to wear this kind of color with pale yellow or magenta. But then again, I love unusual color pairing. (-: keep experimenting! I have a feeling you may be surprised at what you can make work?

Fitwise, I really like both on you.

I like the way you have the moss paired with other natural tones. Does the color go well with your hair/eye/skin coloring? (it's hard for me to tell online). I tried it with the Classiques Mixed Media ruffle top in pickled green it was a neat, kind of unexpected color pairing which brightened up the look, but I struggled too hard to make it work with at least 3 other items (my purchase rule) against my clear winter coloring. I'm seeing maybe spicy orange or off white top/scarf and bronze accessories as another option?

Okay, I'm totally biased because olive green is one of my favorite colors, and I think it pretty much goes with everything (like denim!), but I think the moss jacket looks absolutely delicious on you with that bag! The black jacket is fab too.

Angie, you are right on the money--I love that jacket!! But I don't think I could justify buying it, since I think it would be too hot for me to wear to work (and I certainly can't justify buying it to wear when I work at home!). PS I love your new avatar pic.

I have to disagree with you about the moss jacket and the bag. I love them both. And I love them together. However, I am having the same debate about the jacket.

As Angie says, the cut is magnificent, and it is so classy, but the color is unique and I need to see how much i would actually wear it, and what i would wear it with.
Nordstrom would have done well to offer this in multiple shades. Cream, please! I'm awaiting arrival of the Hinge black leather and will need to decide which to keep. Let us know what you decide.

Both jackets look good on you, but the Moss is truly a cut above.

Hey, Jonesy, the Moss jacket is very lightweight and thin...that is one of the selling points for me. It's more like a blazer than outerwear for sure.

Thanks, Briar - yes, it seems to work well with black, and denim, but as soon as I tried a skirt with any sort of color, it seemed off. But then again, I thought it looked off with my satchel the other day! Angie had some great ideas with cream and navy, but any cream and navy I already have are in the form of other jackets :-\

Thank you, Angie - Both Killer!!?? That's wonderful!! (in a mixed blessing sort of way and Queen Leather Jacket! LOL - that makes me think you've peeked into my closet. . .but what does living up to my title entail - I hope not keeping both!

Kyle, Jonesy - I love to hear everyone's thinking and debating because this is not a no-big-deal-if-I-make-a-mistake kind of item to me. I am a green lover from way back too, but not statuesque, although I think its length would be okay for me.

Jonesy - it IS very light. I'm sure its warmer than a light sweater, but probably no warmer than a winterweight sweater. The sleeves scrunch up so easily. Definitely like a lined blazer weight.

Kyle - Yes, today I like it with my bag! I know I don't need to be able to put it over anything and everything, but I hoped to have at least a few casual and a few work outfits with it (that I adore wearing). I agree about other colors. I think if were offered it in a grey, I would have already been wearing it around the house It sounds like you haven't quite decided yet. . .

Oh, and Angie - thanks for the handbag compliment! I saw the Oryany one in NAS, but refuse to spend too many $$$ on handbags anymore. I liked this earlier Oryany color and its price tag.

I'm surprised how much I like this bag, and hope it doesn't let me down

Wow, Sara, I *really* love that Moss jacket. It's stunning. I love the color, the cut, the fit, everything about it! But you'll just have to decide whether it can live in your closet (but with black? cream? no problem, right?)

That olive green is amazing. I don't subscribe to the rule that all of your clothes have to play nice together.

For me, it works best if I have an outfit that works together 100% from head to toe. I am always going to wear it this way, and maybe mix out some smaller elements like layering tee's, shoes or jewelry.

How would you feel if the jacket didn't look great with everything in your closet, but KILLER with 2 perfect outfits? That would seal the deal for me.

The black jacket is fantastic on you as well but the olive green is just beyond.

If the olive jacket is fighting it is to stay in your closet because it looks killer on you.
I also like the black one so if you feel you have to choose I'm not a great help.

modgrl - that's my hope -- to have a few casual outfits and a few work outfits and LOVE the outfits.

Today, I saw morethanbeige wearing the same Halogen black jacket and her fit was incredible. If mine fit like hers, I don't know what I'd end up doing.

So, still on the fence, but leaning green
