I got home yesterday from my trip to Germany. We were gone for almost a week, which included staying overnight with my brother-in-law and having dinner with my in-laws on the way home last night. Most of the trip was spent walking around Christmas markets and sitting on trains. I really wanted everything to fit in my small-ish backpack.

This is what I took: space dyed sweater, knit top with deer printed on
it, chambray shirt, 3 long-sleeved tees in black, grey, and stripes;
grey ponte trousers, burgundy pencil skirt, dark blue straight leg
jeans, black and white drapey cardigan, assorted scarves, grey boots,
black wedges, and foldable flats to use as slippers.

Originally I had planned to make my new burgundy sweatshirt the center piece of my wardrobe, but when I was trying everything on I decided that it is not actually very flattering so I swapped it for a burgundy and white space dyed cotton sweater. I also decided at the last minute to leave out some scarves and the blue knit shirt that is visible in the photo.

I think the colors were ok, but my jeans got really stretched out after the first day and didn't look that great. The wedges look cute but I only ended up wearing them once, so I could have left them out. Likewise with the flats -- I just didn't really use them like I imagined I would. I had envisioned wearing the skirt more and doing some layering, but the weather was actually quite warm so some of the looks I had planned were just too hot. I didn't feel too badly dressed but definitely not as fab as I had hoped!

Next time I think that I should wear the skirt more, take fewer tees and more tops, stick to one pair of shoes, and perhaps consider jeggings rather than jeans. The saggy baggy jeans problem really drove me nuts.
