This is one of those items that I took into the dressing room only because Angie had mentioned it. I was looking more for the white top than for the topper.

That being said, I found that this is cute on and wonderfully lightweight. It will fill my lightweight summer topper needs. There has been a discussion about toppers on the form recently, and I’m one of those people who said they need something for summer because of air conditioning. This is so light weight, though, that I won’t mind so much wearing it between air-conditioned spaces. The streets and subway stations in New York in the summer can be stifling, but the subways them selves in my office can be Arctic. (Except for the subway cars with broken air conditioners. Don’t get me started.) This also fits the polished BoHo vibe I like to go for in the summers at work. It also helps me to break out of the rut of buying too-casual clothing for summer that’s only appropriate for beach vacations.

The white top, though you can’t see it well here, is great too. A white top is a piece that I like to have in the summer, and I realized recently that the one I had been using was well past its prime. I decided I could do better. This one is slightly dressier than the one I had, plus it’s lined so it’s not too see-through. I can wear this whole outfit to work, in fact, with the change of bottom. But I can also pair this top with shorts.
